KOPI Theatre will be hosting a “Back to 1977” launch party this 18 May 2019 at Barrio by Pisco Bar to celebrate their 4 upcoming shows of Potiche, a hilarious French play set in 1977.
To celebrate these upcoming stimulating and facetious moments, let's all take a hyperdrive trip back 42 years and party to a vintage soundtrack curated by dJCx - the 1977 way! Disco fever peaked with the release of “Saturday Night Fever” the movie and “I feel Love” by Donna Summer but 1977 was also the year Queen released “We are the champions” and the punk of the Sex Pistols invaded the charts, television, newspapers and even the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in the UK.
This also gives you the chance to put on your favourite 1977 wear. Show us flares, platform boots and coloured spiky hair, and you stand to win prizes for Best Dressed!
About the play: POTICHE is a hit French comedy play. Suzanne Pujol is a submissive, housebound ‘trophy wife’ (or “potiche”) who will, to everyone’s surprise, prove to be a competent and assertive woman of action… Disco, class wars and a battle of the sexes, that's Potiche!
The play is in French, with English subtitles only at DPAC
