KL's most diverse and long standing party purveyors, Plural Asia, is celebrating its 7th anniversary in the industry with an event featuring one-half of Japanese techno duo Drunken Kong. This event marks 7 years of Plural putting on parties as an organiser and having been booker, curator and promoter for many of Malaysia's top nightlife venues like Kyo KL, Zouk Genting, Six Bangsar, the now defunct Jiro KL and recently at Iron Fairies KL.
Drunken Kong is a duo based in Japan made up of D.Singh and DJ Kyoko. They rose to prominence with two well regarded albums signed under Chirtian Smith's label Tronic. They have since released multiple singles and EPs on world renowned labels like Octopus Recordings, Stil Vor Talent, Terminal M and recently more actively with Adam Beyer's world conquering imprint, Drumcode.
Their music regularly features in sets and radio shows by the likes of Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Christian Smith, Monika Kruse, Pan-Pot, Umek, Hernan Cattaneo and Deadmau5, just to name a few. To say that their influence in the current electronic music landscape is profound would be an understatement.
"We simply can't wait to have Drunken Kong over in Malaysia for the first time. From the first time I saw their iconic Mixmag live set during our lockdown and falling in love with their music, this has been a dream booking of ours. KL is in for a delight of music and soundscapes!", says Plural Asia co-founder Karla Wong.
The event at Iron Fairies KL, on September 8th will feature Drunken Kong (D.Singh) and long standing Iron Fairies resident Dora as well as introducing industry stalwarts GRFFN and Naztek doing a debut back to back set on this night.
Tickets are available only at the door and priced at RM 65 (before 12am) | RM 75 (after 12am)
