KYO KL presents Gabriele Poso [Live] (Yoruba Records, IT) and Godwin P in the Ren Room on NOVEMBER 24.
Gabriele Poso: A true multi-instrumentalist, Italian born Gabriele found a particular affinity for percussion at a young age, studying in Puerto Rico and Cuba.
Gabriele Poso was born on the 22nd of October 1978 in Sardinia, in the heart of the Mediterranean, but grew up in Lecce, the capital of Salento. Early in his childhood, he established a deep connection with music, and felt that he was truly born when he discovered his family’s vinyl collection comprised of the best jazz, soul and Afro-Latin music.
With the passage of time, Poso has dedicated himself to the study of various instruments, paying particular attention to the guitar, an instrument he uses to give life to his best compositions. His later musical explorations led him into the fascinating world of percussion, that would become for him, a real reason to live.
Godwin P: Fresh slices of aural sushi & lotsa' funk-laced gut invigorating "mish-mash" on his voyage of musical madness, that is Godwin P, the mastermind behind the kyo brand itself.
From South America to Vietnam, small intimate rooms of sweaty hardcore dancers to huge sound arenas and festivals, Godwin has been traveling extensively around the world spreading his love of music and sharing his energy across the globe.
Over the past decade, he's been the main man behind the successes of major brands in Singapore, like Ministry of Sound, SupperClub, DXO, Supperclub, StereoLab and Ku De Ta. His flair on the decks, coupled with his selective ear for quality tunes has gained him a reputation of being one of the best DJs in Singapore.
In 2010, he was listed as one of the top 10 DJs who have shaped Singapore's electronic music dance landscape and recently crowned as one of the 50 outstanding individuals who have contributed passionately to the music industry in the #styleXSG50 2015 Awards.
