James Trystan (Suara / Bedrock/UK) returns to Kuala Lumpur this Saturday 23 February 2019 on Le Noir KL roof terrace with support coming by way off Westseven (Soul de Anima)
After killer releases on Bedrock and Suara have remained staples in many A-lister’s sets over the past few years, James Trystan has continued to pick up key, influential resulting in alignment with yet more tastemaker label talent.
And further proving those DJ credentials set some ten years ago through regular slots at The Cross, MoS and The Key - James has been building fanbases in burgeoning hot-spots like Ukraine, Kuala Lumpur, Thailand, Bali and Singapore; while strengthening his German profile via frequent gigs at Sisyphos and knocking at the major league door with a guest spot at Womb, Japan.
His scene-wide reputation as a DJ gig / tour self-starter, has since spurred him on to create his very own touring agency – Flow; one whose roster already boasts Animal Picnic, Aaron and Djuma Soundsytem.
And this passion for collaborating with producers is key for James artistically too, as he continues to work with long time partners Rory Gallagher (nka Westseven) and Neil Barber, while also beginning a fruitful new partnership with the widely revered Third Son that's set to become a new hotbed for Trystan bombs.
Speaking of James’ future arsenal - soon after emerging from a lengthy winter tour of Asia, he’s straight out the musical traps with a Spring EP on Dear Deer (ft. Jonas Saalbach remix) as well as early Summer releases on Steyoyoke and Ballroom.
Joining him this night, Westseven. In a current musical climate where originality can often be overtaken by the mundane and regular, Westseven’s tireless devotion and relentless energy have taken him to a point where he is beginning to shape the musical world around him. With regular signings to Anjunadeep, productions out on Bedrock, Click, City Fox and What I Play 2018 gained much momentum. 2017 saw the birth of his own imprint, Soul de Anima, gaining plaudits the world over from the HQ in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Over the last five years and more, Westseven has also taken his sound around Asia including various clubs in Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur. Tokyo and Sri Lanka.
