Angelika Niescier is one of those extraordinary women who have been giving new contours to the European jazz scene for some time. She is not only a determined artist with irrepressible energy, rich palette and virtuoso technique, but also composes for film, theatre, big band, ballet and symphony orchestra. Niescier plays with jazz greats like Joachim Kühn, Steve Swallow, Jim Black, Simon Nabatov, Gerald Cleaver, Julia Hülsmann, Nasheet Waits, Ralph Alessi, Tyshawn Sorey, Achim Kaufmann and Gerry Hemingway. She has performed with her own projects on the most important stages and festivals in Europe and has toured in Central Asia, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Egypt, Mexico, USA, Switzerland, Canada, South Korea, Bahrain, Gaza, West Bank, Iraq, Lebanon, Haiti, Dominican Republics, Russia, Turkey. Featuring at NBT: Tay Cher Siang (Piano), AJ (Bass) and Lewis Pragasam (Drums).

His passion is to play the blues, however with years of dedication and countless hours of practice he has developed an extra ordinary technique and fingerstyle ability to simultaneously play complex bass lines, harmony and melody at the same time. His original compositions are influenced by roots music like blues, jazz, country and so on. Especially his ballads and bluesy compositions are popular with his audience. Performed at Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival 2014, awarded audience prize at Fingerpicking Day 2016 in Japan.

Billie Blue & the Nowhere Men Live at Ril’s

Billie Blue & The Nowhere Men is a folk-rock outfit comprising Billie Blue Blackstone (vocals), Soheil Sanjabi (guitar/backing vocals), Icco (bass) and Reuben Devanesan (drums/percussions/backing vocals) who met in the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur. When Billie and Soheil met in 2013, they made their way into the KL music circuit, performing as a duo in various venues around KL, fuelled by their mutual interest in early American folk music as well as psychedelic rock. They later teamed up with like-minded musicians, Icco Elnoel and Reuben Devanesan to form Billie Blue & The Nowhere Men. Their sound is often described as raw and vintage, and the band draws their influences from groups of the late 60s and early 70s.
