MAY 22-23: Jamie Wilson & Friends at NBT

Jamie Wilson studied classical guitar as a child and made his first formal appearance at the Sydney Opera House when he was just 16. By the time he was 18 he had won the MTV Australian National Guitar challenge, earning himself the title as 'Australia's Best Young Guitarist'. He was invited to attend the prestigious G.I.T Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California where he attended seminars and workshops.

 

 

Jamie joined rock legend Jimmy Barnes on his national tour, and there followed tours and performances with Australia's music royalty, guitar maestro Tommy Emmanuel, Ian Moss, Richard Clapton and many others culminating in sharing the stage with American legend and Grammy winner Steve Miller.

MAY 23: Poolside Open Mic #90 ft Clockwise

Clockwise is an alternative rock band from Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur. They started out as friends teaching and learning music from one another, jamming in church with different influences of different genres from jazz, 80s and 90s rock, blues to indie rock. Lyrically deeply influenced by their faith, they hope to bring songs with a positive message to sing for the better good of this world and the world to come

MAY 24-25: Tony Lakatos & Michael Veerapen Trio

Graduating from the jazz department of the Bela Bartók Conservatory in Budapest 1979, Tony Lakatos then became one of the most respected saxophone players in Germany. He was the first Hungarian musician who appeared on the Gavin Report Top Ten in American Jazz Music Radio.  In 2002 he signed an exclusive contract with SKIP Records, and in 2009 his recording of Gerschwin's Porgy & Bess with the Frankfurt Radio Big Band won the Deutsche Schallplatten Preis. Tony has performed as a saxophone soloist in numerous jazz/pop/rock recordings and concerts and has played the saxophone in 350 LP/CD recordings as a leader and sideman.

Tony Lakatos will be performing alongside established Jazz pianist, producer, record studio head and mentor, Michael Veerapen who launched his career even before graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with Summa Cum Laude in 1982, making a name for himself in the industry. At 2017 SEA Games grand opening ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur, Michael was the music director, composer and orchestrator, which was broadcasted live to all major ASEAN countries.
