Raw presents André Honmen (GER)
To Honmen, house music is as much motherland as he is German born. André Hommen was introduced to the music he loves via the radio. Musically his hometown Nettetal in Western Germany doesn't have much to offer at first glance, although more than a few world-famous producers started their career there in the mid 90s.
For over five years now, he has played an important part within the creative and administrative team behind Dennis Ferrer's New York City based Objektivity imprint and has had the opportunity to develop projects by artists including Ferrer, The Martinez Brothers, Loco Dice, Henrik Schwarz and more. Jiro resident Alan Tand and local veteran Terence C will also feature for the night.

Groovedoctor at Kyo KL’s Ren Room
With a pedigree that stretches back almost three decades, the Groovedoctor has played a seminal role in the development of club culture and the underground electronic dance music scene in Malaysia. Starting off his aural therapy excursions in the early 90s, he was influenced by the early club culture explosion from scenes of Ibiza, London, New York and Chicago. In the mid 90s the genre grew in popularity in KL clubs and the Groovedoctor has since carved a reputation as a pioneer underground music DJ, even picking up the title of ‘Best Local DJ 2002’, from lifestyle magazine – Juice and earning the right to the title of Malaysia’s ‘godfather of House’.
Groovy, pumping, tough and techy are his choice beats across a broad range of styles. The good doctor has administered therapy to thousands of clubbers, playing at almost every underground club and event in KL clubbing history as well as internationally, where he has rocked venues in Bangkok, Jakarta, Bali, San Francisco and Osaka. Dance music is about enjoyment; with an MD in beat surgery the Groovedoctor knows it better than anyone.

Zouk KL presents Kris Kross Amsterdam in the Main Room
First finding fame as a DJ duo playing around Amsterdam, Kris Kross soon started throwing parties in the city under the Kris Kross Amsterdam name where they could play exactly what they wanted to; an unconventional mix of R&B, hip-hop, twerk, trap and house, which could be appreciated by both men and many women. In 2014, MC Yuki Kempees joined the duo to perform vocal duties, taking their already raucous club shows to the next level and ready to take over the world.
Follow-up ‘SEX’ with Los Angeles outfit Cheat Codes exceeded lofty expectations once again, flipping Salt-N-Pepa’s classic ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’ on its head in a tropical R&B style. This anthem picked up over 370 million plays on Spotify alone and more than 70 million views on YouTube, breaking all the records. It was the introduction of Kris Kross Amsterdam to the entire world.
In December 2016 Kris Kross Amsterdam celebrated their fifth year anniversary, hosting a massive party in their city Amsterdam. Straight after their anniversary the trio continued with the release of their new single ‘Are You Sure?’, a collaboration with the UK popstar Conor Maynard and US hip hop artist Ty Dolla $ign. In a short time, their new hit already surpassed the 15 million streams and it still is on high speed. Also featured for the night Blink and HypeEmbeats.

The Sweatbox – A Manual Affair at Elysium
This Saturday's Sweatbox is rather special for several reasons. Head honcho of Manual Music/MNL, Paul Hazendonk (NL) guests, joined by two local DJ/producers who have released music on his label - Idham and Sweatbox resident Obadius.
Making his debut to Sweatbox will be Sanzy, whose sets are identified by a melodic , progressive vision. Also returning to Sweatbox will be Shazz, while Sweatbox resident will also be at hand.
Paul Hazendonk was born in the suburbs of Rotterdam in 1982. As a young kid he already developed an excessive interest for music, quickly discovering house music and noticing the deejays who were mixing records together. He got his first club gig at age 18 and after that it all seemed like one big rollercoaster ride. In the first years of his career he already played at some of his cuontry’s most infamous clubs, parties and festivals.
Paul started his first label, Technique, back in 2002 whilst working at the legendary record company and store Basic Beat located in the heart of Rotterdam. Nowadays both Technique and Basic Beat are defunkt but Paul is more active than ever in the record business, being the owner of the Manual Music company. Manual Music releases music on various (sub) labels, takes care of artist management, digital distribution and music publishing.
Having always been a DJ first and a producer second, it took some time before Paul got busy in the studio, but in the last couple of years his name as a producer is getting more and more known globally, after having signed to respected labels such as Hope Recordings, Diynamic Music, Sleaze Records, Einmusika, Sudbeat, Proton Music, Lowbit Records + naturally his own label Manual Music.
Both his DJ and production style has evolved throughout the years from full on techno to a more mature sound, music with an infectious drive, blending (deep)house, and melodic techno, depending on time and place of performance.

Circuitbreaker and Kuma at Le Noir
Le Noir KL present residents Circuitbreaker and Kuma on the Roof Terrace playing you deep and tech house all night. Who is Circuitbreaker? Well, he started his passion for music in the late 80s back in the UK with a love of early electro, then moving through genres such as acid house, techno, breakbeat and deep house.
With a music collection that literally spans decades, his sets truly demonstrate the often clichéd ‘journey’, playing the latest rockin’ tunes, hypnotising bass lines, undiscovered gems and some pure grin inducing hands in the air classics. Having played many clubs in the early 90s in the UK, under many different guises, he took a step back from the live scene, all the while continuing to provide a new mix every few months for those in the know. Circuitbreaker has recently decided to step out from the shadows once more and take to the decks when he joined Le Noir KL when the club opened over a year ago.
Kuma is now one of the very few established DJs from Malaysia who plays across Asia and Europe. With his signature underground techno and techno based sounds, he's earned himself something of a name in the Asian underground house music community, taking the music to dance floors across Asia, including the likes of Embassy (Philippines), Sound Club (Thailand), Womb (Tokyo), and festivals such as the Full Moon party on the beach of Haadrin in Koh Pangan (Thailand), Epizode (Vietnam), regular Jungle Experience (Koh Phangan) appearances to add to appearances in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and Ibiza.
And with his two releases in the last year, Kamagra and the Acid Flux EP creating waves, there’ still lots more to come from Kuma.
