They are Malaysian legends of the Asian ska movement. Come and enjoy a skankin' good time with them where they will play a 90-minute set, supported by great friends and bands.
A Kuala Lumpur based Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae & Dub band, (GSC/Gerhana) emerged from the ska revival scene of Malaysia in the late 1990s. While third-wave ska bred new faces and new categories; ska-punk, ska-pop, ska-core, Gerhana Skacinta stayed the traditional path, remaining faithful to a kind of rootsy purity based on a determination that some music is timeless.
After a few changes in line up over the past 20 years, releasing quite a few original albums, still led by founding member Edy, they remain the living legends of that ska revival, and now joined in the scene by many new outfits.
Skudap Skudip, JBoss Reggae, The Riddim Bois and Budak Nakal Hujung join them this gig from 5pm to 10pm. Doors open at 4.30pm.
Tickets are now available at RM50. Get yours now before it’s too late!

is a series of label showcase by Kuala Lumpur-based indie music label mü-nest, whose ever-expanding roster of talented artists includes Flica (MY), Okamotonoriaki (JP), Marihiko Hara & Polar M (JP), me:mo (CN), [Post-foetus] (US), Hior Chronik (GR), and more.
After the success of the label showcase in Kyoto, Tokyo, Beijing and Prague, this year the series is returning to KL for the 3rd time. This round, the label will be showcasing to our local audience 3 affiliates of mü-nest label, namely Euseng Seto, Dae Kim (w/ Stemilyn), and Shuzhen. In addition, our very own DJ Oddjob will be spinning some chilled-vibes tunes in the show.
Euseng Seto, as flica, began in 2007. In his embryonic form, flica dabbled in a mishmash of the acoustic and the electronic, composing easy listening melody tunes for debut album Windwane & Window (mu-nest label). The release received an overwhelming response from Japan, which resulted in flica’s sophomore, Nocturnal, being released under Tokyo-based indie label Schole. It was during the transitionary period between his sophomore and third album that flica started delving into a darker and emotional ambient sound.
The resulting release, Telepathy Dreams (self-release), was a decidedly different approach to music making than the previous album. More focused on sound design-based compositions, the album was the maturity point of flica. This was also when he met and collaborated with visual artist Fairuz Sulaiman. flica, being a designer by trade, an audiovisual person himself, was inspired to incorporate more visual elements to his live set – creating a sensory synchronisation in sound and sight.
In his current incarnation, flica is a combination of ambient electronica by way of oriental mood, or as he put it himself; “an Asian sound with experimental element.”
Dae Kim: In a subjective world of music, what makes an individual musician outstanding is their ability to influence others emotionally. Dae Kim has a distinct sound. Half the time it’s hip hop, and when not, it’s fuzzy, lush electronics, communicating love and longing. With his witty commentaries during his live shows, He can be a fun dude as well but he is quite susceptible to sappy tendencies as well, just take his debut EP, ‘
Shuzhen: Shuzhen hails from Johor Bahru, Malaysia. She started composing music since 2009, collaborated with various artists for albums, films, animations, and dance performances. Her debut solo live show was in the recent JB Arts Festival, 2016.
Being a classical trained pianist, her works mainly focus on piano sounds, but has since evolved into experimental/electronic vibes. The melodies of her music are simple but yet delicate. Most of her works are inspired from her emotions from within, which are rare to be revealed.

are a Seoul-based trio consisting of bassist/lead vocalist Yoonhae, guitarist/vocalist Naeun and drummer Wonjin. The band formed in 2013 through their mutual love of 60s-70s rock as well as Korean psychedelic masters such as Shin Joong Hyun and Sanullim, while each member had already been involved with various bands and projects by then, with a broad musical spectrum which ranges from rock and folk to soul, funk and even disco. Parasol released their self-titled debut EP in July 2014, followed by the 1st full-length album “Someday” exactly one year later.
Over the course of their rather short career as a band, Parasol quickly developed a unique musical style of their own, drawing not only on their similarities, but also on differences and diversity. Parasol’s songs are at once simple and complex, sparse and dense, unfolding its understated beauty and deft pop sensibilities with each listen. Their live performances show how skillful yet intuitive players they are, leading to their strong reputation as a live band. Parasol released their 2nd full-length album "A Nothing" on July 8th and they played their first shows abroad in Tokyo in August, which will be followed by an extensive Asia tour (Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia) from September through November.
Local support for the night comes from:
