Raw with David Mayer at Jiro KL

Raw with David Mayer at Jiro KL

Jiro KL presents Raw with David Mayer (GER). Crossing borders is a familiar experience to David Mayer. Though being born in south Germany, he spent most of his youth living in Norway and (for a change) in Lanzarote, before Berlin happened to become his home in 2004.

Preferring to think outside the box, Mayer has always been equally interested in listening to and experimenting with diverse forms of music, no matter what musical genre they derive from, although his passion for funked up and heavily pounding 4/4 beats clearly dominates his creative output. when spinning records and producing tracks, he is presenting his own interpretation of catchiness, mixing up techno and house, adding a little deepness, but always keeping an eye on making his audience shake some. His dedication formally found its way into several musical excursions as a ghost/co producer or audio engineer. Only leaving his desk in order to indulge some serious clubbing, this guy knows about priorities.

Also featuring for the night will be Alam and Jiro resident Alan Tand.

Elysium Bar & Terrace presents Stereo Therapy with Martin Lugtu

Elysium Bar & Terrace presents Stereo Therapy with Martin Lugtu

Stereo Therapy is back again this time around bringing you the finest house and techno legends from around the region. For this edition of Stereo Therapy, they team up with one of the only house and techno clubs from the Philippines, TIME in Manila and welcome one of their finest residents Martin Lugtu.

Fresh, fresh, fresh” is how Martin Lugtu describes his brand of sound. Trust the guy to know what fresh is: at the bright, young age of five, he was already playing with his father’s turntables. In the early nineties, he started mixing tapes. After moving to Los Angeles in 1999, he bought his first own set of turntables. He taught himself how to spin from scratch, then immersed himself in L.A.’s electronic music scene, attending countless raves and festivals plus getting into the circle of DJs and producers.

A post shared by Martin Lugtu (@martinlugtu) on

In 2005, Martin Lugtu moved to Miami and began playing for parties. Two years later, he moved back to Manila and became resident DJ of Warehouse 135, the only underground club in the city at that time. He then became one of the resident DJs of Driven Manila. In June of 2010, he moved to London to study Logic Pro and Music Production. Since then he’s played in one of the world’s infamous clubs, Ministry of Sound.

In his repertoire, he’s had the chance to play alongside with such DJs as Dubfire, Dennis Ferrer, KiNK, Guti, Nic Fanciulli, Secret Cinema, Martin Eyerer, Jim Rivers, John “00” Fleming, Dave Seaman, Ramon Tapia, Darren Emerson, Nick Warren, Luke Fair, Anil Chawla, Satoshi Fumi to name a few in his list. Also known for his marathon sets, he is one of the main people behind TIME in Manila’s notorious flagship night, Deep Dark Dirty.

Martin Lugtu has come a long way since his childhood antics, currently standing as one of the country’s most respected underground DJs. He currently holds a residency at TIME, a venue with a 100% non-commercial policy, which completely fits his taste and style.

Victor G and Terence C will feature alongside for the night, while on the Terrace, Victor Trixter takes to the decks.
