David Morales at Marini’s on 57

Dj David Morales at Marinis on 57 KLCC Kuala Lumpur

Marini’s on 57 hits up the Malaysian MotoGP by bringing you the return of a house legend – David Morales (US). The global sensation and penetration of dance music into top 40 radio would not have been possible without a foundation built by David Morales – one of the first true superstar DJs. A native New Yorker, David Morales grew up during dance music’s most influential era and frequented its legendary clubs like The Loft and Paradise Garage.

After honing his skills at New York City’s most popular clubs David Morales embarked on a remixing career in the mid- 80s – right when the art really started taking off. These days, though continuing to DJ around the world David has embraced the new technology which allows him to create and remix music on the road.

Marini’s music director Jeff Jefferson also features, along with co-residents Casey Rascal and RJ Funk. The Marini’s on 57 MotoGP Party on October 27 October starts at 9.00pm, and the cover charge for the event is RM150 nett which includes entry to the event and a beverage.

Raw at Jiro KL presents Oliver Deutschmann (GER)

Raw at Jiro KL Bangsar presents Oliver Deutschmann (GER)

Berlin's Oliver Deutschmann has gained a reputation over the last 15 years through his pure passion, diverse track selection and an unambiguous mixing ability. Years before he released his first EPs he had already set himself on a path that would see him DJ all over the world, eventually leading to his adopted home of Berghain where he has lit up both rooms of the club dozens of times since first playing there almost ten years ago.

Deutschmann displays a distinct unwillingness to be pigeonholed in any one style, and is right at home whether he's warming things up with an understated house groove or thrashing the big rooms with his grandiose brand of techno.

While honing his abilities at the controls, he also began testing the waters of production and label ownership, and has since created four labels: Vidab, Falkplatz, Slim Audio and the vinyl only imprint GKNSTR.

Releases on Soma, Aim, Caduceus, Etruria Beat, Mobilee, and his own imprints culminated in his 2013 debut album, 'Out of the Dark,' that Resident Advisor described to be "as potent as any techno album released in the last few years."

Jiro resident Alan Tand and Ed Dix also feature for the night.

Circuitbreaker and Kuma at Le Noir

Le Noir KL present residents Circuitbreaker and Kuma on the Roof Terrace playing you deep and tech house all night.

Who is Circuitbreaker? Well, he started his passion for music in the late 80s back in the UK with a love of early electro, then moving through genres such as acid house, techno, breakbeat and deep house.

With a music collection that literally spans decades, his sets truly demonstrate the often clichéd ‘journey’, playing the latest rockin’ tunes, hypnotising bass lines, undiscovered gems and some pure grin inducing hands in the air classics. Having played many clubs in the early 90s in the UK, under many different guises, he took a step back from the live scene, all the while continuing to provide a new mix every few months for those in the know. Circuitbreaker has recently decided to step out from the shadows once more and take to the decks when he joined Le Noir KL when the club opened over a year ago .

Dj Kuma Kuala Lumpur

Kuma is now one of the very few established DJs from Malaysia who plays across Asia  and Europe. With his signature underground techno and techno based sounds, he's earned himself something of a name in the Asian underground house music community, taking the music to dance floors across Asia, including the likes of Embassy (Philippines), Sound Club (Thailand), Womb (Tokyo), and festivals such as the Full Moon party on the beach of Haadrin in Koh Pangan (Thailand), Epizode (Vietnam), regular Jungle Experience (Koh Phangan) appearances to add to appearances in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and Ibiza.

And with his two releases in the last year, Kamagra and the Acid Flux EP creating waves, there’ still lots more to come from Kuma.

Malaya Disco Party at Under9

DJs DangerDisko Kuala Lumpur

The monthly Malay Disco Party at Under9 returns with Fi7i, Dangerdisko and Lionel Rizki on deck duties for the night.

Fi7i: one of the latest additions to HOAXVISION, Fi7i has been making waves on Youtube subtly, but surely. The 21- year- old stole the spotlight when he first released his edit of Sheila Majid’s Sinaran about a year ago, garnering the attention of local disco pioneers Dangerdisko. The old timers were too fascinated by this version that they swapped their edit of Sinaran with his and included his edit in their sets.

Six months later, Fi7i released his EP, D i s c o n i n e t y – s i x and was the first act to play for Urbanscapes Opening Night. Fast forward to August 2017, Fi7i released another EP called Radio....Active ! ! !

Fi7i is influenced by the Malay music of the 70s to 80s that he grew up listing to, and those of the modern day vaporwave/electrofunk anime clad music which includes producers such as Aritus, Desired, Night Tempo and Macross 82-99. He's bound to get you surfing the vaporwave of Future Funk.

Dangerdisko: this duo of synth lovers consists of Farez Khan and Shaheed Naz, both are known as South East Asia's princes of indie dance a.k.a DANGERDISKO. They are Kuala Lumpur's main purveyors of fine dirty disco and obscure new wave. Known throughout the scene for having a unique and edgier sound, they are recognized regionally as one of the pioneers of the eclectic disco sound that is visible in their live sets/productions.

The duo have been pushing the 4/4 movement way before the birth of woke hipsters, when Heritage Row ruled Kuala Lumpur, when Changkat was a myth and TREC was just a dream whose fate was at the hands of loan approvers.

Heavily influenced by retro revivalists, the indie dance scene, a whole lot of anime and Daft Punk, the only thing you could expect from their sets are the unexpected.

Lionel Rizki: has always been immersed into the local music scene, starting out as a roadie, a music photographer, a VJ and now a DJ! As a selector, his favoured sound is a range of disco and electronic sounds with groovy beats, horns and synths from the late 70s that’s guaranteed to get the dance floor down to boogie. As a Japanophile, audiences are often treated to the odd city pop single, Shibuya kei track and event themes from recent Nippon productions. Expect Indonesian disco to be included into his selections inspired by his recent rediscovery of his hometown. He is also the head of Marketing and PR for Saturday Selects, a collective, platform and record label that consists of creatives & musicians from around the world and a member of Public School, focusing on leftfield music which are deemed unacceptable to be played at clubs.
