New club, new sounds at Trec Club 'Shiraz' with the Quinte Insurrection Opening Night on Friday 27 July 2018 with ANRK, Mutual Collective and Quinte founder Alex Martin playing underground house, tech house and techno. Call it the musical rumblings of a Quinte Insurrection.
ANRK: Ashish Khilnani aka ANRK is a Malaysian based DJ/Producer who has been DJing and producing since 2012. He started as a producer and then subsequently started DJing in hopes that his productions will reach out to more people. He's impressed crowds with his live sampling, live remixing and back to back sets with some of the most well-known DJs here. He has remixed, played alongside, opened for and collaborated with quite a few well-known artists from all over the world including KHSMR, Headhunterz, Uberjak’d, Wiwek, Stereoheroes, Dimatik, DJ Femme, Jeff Jefferson, Goldfish & Blink, JP Lantieri.
Ash is not just a DJ but also a versatile producer whose productions have reached the hearts of people in KL and across the globe with tracks released under Modem Records, Love International (also as label manager), Heavy Records, House Audio Records. Ash has also given a talk on production to students who are aspiring musicians at Help University College in 2016.
Ash occasionally does audio production and scores/jingles for corporate promotional videos (TVCs and advertisements), the most recent one being for a company called BTHRMs. Ash's sets vary depending on the crowd he plays for and is versatile when it comes to astounding you with his mixes be they Deep, Tech or Soulful House or even Electro House.
Mutual Collective: Whilst living in Bali, Tristan aka Mutual Collective submerged himself into the deep depths of underground music. Whether it would be house or hip hop, he always found himself halfway through the night wondering how he ended up in the grimiest spots in town. Now he’s a house addict, he literally has an anxiety attack and needs to take 8 valiums whenever Bruno Mars gets played. He started actively DJing throughout 2016 to gain inspiration from a collective of genres and artists. Beware though, he is a very emotional DJ. Alex Martin: Custodian of deep, rhythmic dance beats and a care-free atmosphere. That’s how Alex describes himself as a DJ, never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Today this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best – beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks.. all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat.
A natural musician, Alex developed a passion for house music in the early 2000s and by 2010 he was playing to big room audiences at Quinte and Desire on Heritage Row, Kuala Lumpur.
As a resident and founder of the underground house club, Quinte, along with KL techno-house veteran DJ Kuma, from its conception in 2010 to 2016, Quinte was notably one of the clubs that stuck to a strict underground music policy.
And since July, last year, he’s co-founded and runs one of the most talked about Pool Parties in the Kuala Lumpur scene in recent years.
He has graced the podium alongside names such as Marco Bailey, Jay Lumen, Mark Farina, Daniel Portman, Marco Loco, Ahmet Sendil, Randy Seidman, Graham Gold, Nakadia and many more. He is also a frequent guest resident in Koh Phangan for the Full Moon Party, Jungle Experience, Sramanora Waterfall Party, Echo Beach and Mellow Mountain Full Moon Night.
On Saturday 28 July 2018, Shiraz Club welcomes Jazzerimo with guest for the night DJ Eva and DJ Kuma.
Jazzerimo: Born in Iran Jazzerimo began his journey into music in the early age of 15 and soon became one of the most sought-after DJ’s in Iran. His main genres of music are techno and house. Jazzerimo’s musical path has taken him to a number of countries, from spinning in UAE, Turkey, and to some of the biggest electronic festivals in Georgia, and to now living and spinning in renowned clubs and bars and pool parties in Malaysia.
DJ Eva: Evgenia also known as DJ Eva was born and raised in Russia in 1985 and currently based in Kuala Lumpur, she grew up loving music and performed as a dancer since 14 years old. Her passion love of music developed into her wanting to DJ. Her influences come from the likes of Russian DJ Romero, DJ Groove and UK DJ Carl Cox and this grew into the tones of which her sounds takes you on a journey of house, techno, deep minimal progressive and trance
In 2015 she moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and quickly got into the dance scene. She decided to buy some decks and began to practice and experiment with all her favourite styles of music which quickly led her to the music trend on the underground scene. Inspired by her love of music she made her debut at a private party and from there was asked to play for a clubbing audience at various clubs in KL including, Como, Elysium, Pisco, Nagaba, Mantra, Elevate, Boulevard, Glow (Penang), Zion, Market place, Gasoline, Jiro KL, Le Noir, Trak, Reggae Mansion rooftop, Day dream pool party, Liquid room,Viva KL,Winezulu, for now resident of Privi club.
DJ Kuma also guests for the night.
Shiraz Club opens officially with their Launch on 1 August 2018 with a special mid week opening party featuring Alex Martin, DJ Kuma, DJ Mie, J-Sun, Dora, Kooler and Jazzerimo.
