"The international DJ superstar was once your local DJ"- Carl Cox
Dear Party People,
Once in a while we are making it a mission to celebrate not only club culture as a whole- though its unity, variation and color, but also the pioneers who week in and week out contribute to delivering a steady flow of magnificent beats.
It is something magic to see a resident DJ letting you in on their music collection, allowing you to see, hear and feel their music persona and disclosing their taste to a dancefloor whom they then have to move - both physically and spiritually.
They are the underrated heroes of our parties and the unsung gods of the music flow of a night , who put the musicality of it all above their own DJ performance.
With the passing of so many legends in recent times and the awakening of the fact that we don't appreciate their work and contribution enough until such time they pass an leave a legacy, let us stay with the living legends and let's take a Saturday night to appreciate their effort and dedication to building, maintaining and moving forward our local scene.
One example is our birthday boy Helmee Aidy Rahman. A steady Le Noir KL resident and with a very colorful library of sounds going back though 25 years of career- collecting records and sharing his love with the clubbing community. This week we celebrate his birthday and we wish him many more happy years - hopefully all of them behind the the decks . Joining him are our O x 2 residents whom we send a big shout out to for sticking around with us at The Sweatbox for the past 4+ years and loving it all in the process.
We have so much love for them and we look forward to celebrate with you this Saturday, February 22 from 11 PM at Le Noir Club Lounge!
