10 Lesser Known Food Trucks to Check Out in the Klang Valley

The food truck culture has really taken off in recent years, especially across the Klang Valley, It’s true that Malaysians have been selling food and groceries from trucks for decades. However, these days, the contemporary food truck culture is usually dedicated to modern interpretations of traditional offerings and western cuisine.

When they first started out, food trucks operated alone in isolated areas. Now, there are several food truck parks across the Klang Valley where they congregate. One of the largest ones is Tapak Urban Street Dining at Persiaran Hampshire opposite KLCC.

1. Ken’s Food Truck

Ken’s Food Truck can be found around the Kota Kemuning area serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They feature gourmet seafood as part of their appetizers, including coconut shrimp and calamari rings.

2. MY Gỏi Cuốn Food Truck

Gỏi Cuốn is the Vietnamese word meaning spring rolls, and this food truck specializes in serving halal Vietnamese cuisine. Their best sellers are of course their fresh spring rolls that feature huge prawns and an authentic dipping sauce.

If you’re living in and around Taman Melawati, you can drop by Burger Giler Power. They serve the juiciest beef burgers in the area, and artisanal brewed coffee by Khatulistiwah. The must-try here is, of course, their Signature Cheese Burger and their Cajun Chicken Burger.

4. Dapur Terbang Foodtruck

Dapur Terbang, which literally translates to ‘Flying Kitchen’ is a food truck that serves Halal western food. Some of their best sellers include the Lamb Chop, Grilled Chicken and Spaghetti Bolognaise.
