The recent opening of the Vogue Lounge has brought fashion dining in Kuala Lumpur to new heights. Located on the 38th floor of Menara Suezcap in Bangsar South, Vogue Lounge offers spectacular views, glamorous décor and fabulous cuisine and cocktails.
KL is coming into its own, with a burgeoning assortment of amazing cocktail bars and speakeasies. And Vogue Lounge KL is refining this trend, by offering a chic flair to a growing nightlife scene. In fact, Vogue Lounge in KL is the only establishment under the Conde Nast, at the moment, which is focusing on evening and nightlife sophistication.
The atmosphere is elegant with high ceilings, lavish chandeliers, sleek accents and iconic photographs. But Vogue Lounge doesn’t lose its playfulness, with a tasteful ‘catwalk’ floor that allows you to strut your style and strike a pose, as you mingle from table to bar and around to the other amenities. After all, you’ve come here to experience your little piece of the elusive world that is Vogue and pampering yourself in life’s luxuries.
Vogue Lounge is also popular for gatherings and parties, both private and corporate, as well as among couples and small groups There are two private rooms for booking if you are ready to truly indulge. And don’t forget to make your way up to the 360-degree rooftop bar, with a spectacular view of the Klang Valley, good music and great art.
Of course, the cuisine is of the Vogue standard – setting the benchmark for others to follow. During our review, we were treated to appetizers of organic green & white fresh asparagus with zesty grapefruit (RM62), and creamy beetroot soup with cream cheese (RM42) - which is served cold, and is deliciously refreshing in this hot climate.
For our mains, we dined on European black cod, marinated with Saikyo miso, served with salmon roe, chrysanthemum greens and radish (RM75). Cooked to perfection, the dish offered a fresh, delicate taste of the sea.
We were also treated to the newest menu item, truffle risotto, with Parmesan and poached egg (RM99). And while I prefer my risotto a bit more al-dente, it was a sinfully rich dish.
Vogue Lounge has a wine room with over 800 bottles of some of the finest wines and a talented young sommelier. I can only image the suggestions he may have made, to bring this experience to a new level of gastronomical indulgence. I imaged a crisp German Riesling with the cod, and a New Zealand pinot noir to balance the richness of the risotto.
Overall, the staff at Vogue Lounge are wonderful. They are genuinely helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable in their area of service.
For dessert, we made our way to the bar, for a new view and experience. The Lemon Tarte with coconut sorbet, meringue sumi, mango and citron caviar (RM48) was a fantastic blend of sweet and sour and gave my face a real pucker.
The Matcha Affogato (RM35) is for the wagashi, or Japanese dessert lover, being not too sweet, bursting with green tea flavour, and encased in the glutinous rice daifuku pastry.
As we made our way through dessert, we were also invited to share three signature cocktails between the two of us. We took turns sipping the Painting Grey with Earl Grey gin, elderflower, citrus and egg white (RM55);

the Jungle Fever with banana rum, Campari, pineapple and citrus (RM55); and the Vogue Tonic Cocktail with vodka, cold-brew chamomile tea, grapefruit and Szechuan & ginger cordial (RM50).
As I mentioned earlier, there is some fierce competition for great cocktails in KL now. Overall, we enjoyed each of the cocktails we shared. The Vodka Tonic fell a bit short for me, perhaps because I’m not a big fan of chamomile tea, but we particularly enjoyed the Jungle Fever.
For a lavish night of luxury, dress to the Nines and strike a pose at Vogue Lounge in KL. If you aren’t ready to dress the part, the Vogue Lounge may not be the experience for you. But if you want to dress and dine in elegance, see and be seen in style, then Vogue Lounge is the perfect place for you. It gives you the chance to be a part of the sophistication and chic that is Vogue.
