Street food the Italian way in KLCC

Street food the Italian way in KLCC

Craving an authentic Italian-style pizza? Dreaming of perfect pasta and freshly baked ciabatta? We finally have the answer!

Luciano's Italian Street Food
is a little gem hidden away at the side of Wisma Central in KLCC. You will spot it as you walk down the newly renovated side street around the corner from the 7 eleven, thanks to the European-style outside eating area with potted plants. And when you step inside, the aroma of the best pizza in the city will hit you.

The menu is simple: pizza slices from RM17.50, a few pasta dishes from RM14.99, bread, 2 to 3 desserts from RM8.50, coffee and soft drinks. And it is in simplicity that the beauty lies. The crisp ciabatta-style base pizza slices are topped with a flavourful tomato sauce and a range of toppings to suit even the pickiest eaters (me!). Quality ingredients ensure the taste shines through, even in a simple margarita. Truly delicious.

The pasta ranges from fresh spinach and ricotta tortellini to lasagnas, and all are cooked with a true Italian flare. The crunchy ciabatta, warm from the oven and dipped in olive oil or spread with butter, makes a perfect appetiser or accompaniment to mop up the pasta sauces.

I recommend washing it down with the specially imported Sicilian orange or lemon soda for a real taste of the dolce vita. If you have room for more food, try their almond-topped pannacotta or a delicious cup of proper Italian coffee.

You can find Luciano's Italian street food at Wisma Central, Lot 1.145A & 1.72B, Ground Floor, Jln Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 12pm – 8pm. For more information, call +60 10-244 0771.
