Elevated Delight: A Sky-High Experience at Sky51 's Blue Bar at The EQ, Kuala Lumpur.
Nestled in the heart of Kuala Lumpur's bustling cityscape, Blue at Sky51 in The EQ offers a transcendent experience that combines breathtaking views, delectable cocktails, and a sophisticated ambience.
As you step into the bar, the panoramic vistas of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and the glittering city skyline grab your attention and draw you in. Go in the early evening, and the setting sun paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, creating a mesmerising backdrop for an unforgettable evening.
The bar is a modern masterpiece with sleek lines and contemporary decor that perfectly complements the urban landscape outside. Whether you sit at the bar or lounge on one of the plush sofas, every seat offers a prime view of the city below.
But it's not just the views that make Sky Bar exceptional; it's also the expertly crafted cocktails and impeccable service. The menu boasts an extensive selection of drinks, from classic cocktails to innovative creations infused with local flavours. Each drink is expertly mixed by skilled bartenders who take pride in their craft, ensuring every sip is a delight for the senses.
Our team started with cocktails from the new Go Lokal menu, including the Lush Temptation, a stunning combination of Bourbon, coconut liqueur, cranberries, kaffir lime, lemon, Aquafaba (vegan egg substitute made from chickpeas) and strawberry served in an ice cream cone-style glass. The "ice cream scoop" effect on top was made with a bubble of tasty smoke that dissolves when your lips meet it.
We also tried the Rum Forest Run, which combines Plantation pineapple rum, fermented pineapple, Langkau, pandan, gula melaka and lime to give you a refreshingly delicious tipple.
Apart from the locally inspired flavours, there is an extensive menu of classic cocktails and a comprehensive list of whiskeys, including Scotch, Irish, Taiwanese and Indian. A beautifully curated wine list and a selection of beers, other spirits and soft drinks complete the drinks options.
Sky Bar (and Blue inside) also offers a tempting array of platters, bar snacks and light bites for those feeling peckish. Whether you're in the mood for caviar or nachos, the menu has something to satisfy every craving. We tried the Crispy Baby Crab and thought it was beautifully fresh, perfectly seasoned and tasted amazing with the Goma aioli dipping sauce.
We finished off their evening with a delightful Burnt Cheesecake. Its sweetness was perfectly complemented by the slightly sour lemon and vanilla sauce on the side.
What truly sets Sky51 apart, however, is its vibe. Whether you're visiting for a romantic date night or catching up with friends, the atmosphere is always lively and convivial. A live band performs from Thursday to Sunday inside whilst a DJ is outside, and the music sets the perfect mood with a mix of upbeat tunes and laid-back melodies that contribute to the crowd's energy.
In addition to its regular offerings, it hosts special events and themed nights, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience. From live music performances to themed parties, there's always something happening at Sky51.
Overall, this sky bar at The EQ is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to elevate their evening in KL. Its stunning views, impeccable service, and enticing menu offer a truly unparalleled experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor to the city, a visit to Blue at Sky51 will surely be a highlight of your time in Kuala Lumpur.
