2. The Majestic Hotel

The Majestic hotel has an array of afternoon Hi Tea options at Colonial Café and Tea Lounge with its Plush red leather chairs, crisply starched white tablecloths and timber panelling reinforce the colonial feel. The Tea Lounge located in the Majestic Wing of the hotel with its old fashioned grid ceilings and antique brass fittings provides the perfect setting for English Afternoon Tea. The Orchid Conservatory showcasing a botanical hanging garden within a glass atrium, the only one of its kind in Malaysia or the Drawing room also in the Majestic Wing, an elegant private lounge with the perfect touch of colonial nostalgia.

 

 

All serve English Afternoon Tea Daily from 3 pm to 6 pm. Afternoon Tea starts with delicate finger-sized sandwiches, scones adorned with jam and clotted cream, a range of sweet treats, homemade savouries with an Asian twist served on tiered copper burnished stands.

3. Intercontinental Hotel 

The culinary team at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur have curated a special menu for the Secret Garden Afternoon Tea at OneSixFive Lounge between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm daily overlooking the tranquil tropical garden with cascading waterfall, and enjoy a tasty collection of sweet pastries and saviour delights.

OneSixFive have two afternoon tea sets to choose from: The Traditional Set and the Asian Set. The traditional Afternoon Tea takes you back to the grand afternoon teas fit for European royalty with its combination of sweet and savoury treats prepared fresh each day and offered in a white jewellery box. Open each drawer and discover delicious surprises of appetising bites, the selection includes mouth-watering sweet treats such as layered yoghurt with berry compote, chocolate parfait with lemon cream, frozen Grand Marnier soufflé and savoury finger food such as salmon and scallop roll.

The Asian Set takes you back to 1920’s Shanghai with its offering of exquisite Oriental snacks. Presented in a traditional birdcage on the top layer you will find desserts such as glazed cherry filled with morello cream and amerena cherry and chocolate teapot with pineapple mango custard and coconut mousse.

Both Afternoon Tea Sets come with a selection of freshly baked Raisins, Citrus Fig and Plain Scone, all served with decadent Devonshire clotted cream and a range of premium jams. To accompany the delicious food chose a pot of selected Ronnefeldt tea, premium coffee, Nitrogen coffee or make your afternoon tea a celebration with a glass of Champagne.

4. Banyan Tree Hotel 

 

The Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur offering of Hi Tea with Altitude located on the 53rd floor of the premise Premiering their Summer Afternoon Tea Set, offering guests a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The dazzling menu guides you through the different savoury sensations offering a selection of confectionaries boasted with vibrant colours,  three appetisers that include Lobster Grissini, Char Siew Chicken Crisp and Garden Herb Tuile and a selection of sandwiches and savouries that offer a rich flavour with every bite.

The highlight of the Afternoon includes a selection of sugary morsels like Temptation, a sweet composition comprising of Vanilla Mossuex, Almond Sponge, Almond Crumble and Lime Jelly. For those that enjoy the classics, there are also plain scones with rich clotted cream and homemade fruit jam.

5. W Kuala Lumpur 

W Kuala Lumpur has a fashion themed hi-tea at Woobar on Level 8 between 3-5pm for the month of August specially curated in conjunction with KLFW. 

The hi tea menu consists of items like Chicken Rendang Onigir, Salmon Roe Taramasalata, Beetroot Tapioca Cracker, Tofu Slider, Chili Jam, Spinach Brioche (V), Curry Crab Mayo Charcoal Sandwich, Dot Dot Éclair-Tropical Mango Passion fruit and Jelly Bean Scone with Clotted Cream & Organic Cape Gooseberry Jam to name a few.

Celebrate one of the most important occasions in Chinese culture as The pastry chefs at Yun House, the Hotel’s signature Chinese restaurant has created a special mooncake menu for the season, with varieties ranging from time-honoured to innovative.

Choose from an array of homemade mooncakes with heavenly crusts and luxurious fillings. Baked mooncakes are available in premium flavours such as Oo Long Tea and Osmanthus with Lotus Seed Paste (MYR 45 per piece) and Traditional Assorted Nuts (MYR 45 per piece). 

Determined by the lunar calendar, the Mooncake Festival falls toward the end of summer, when the moon is at its fullest and most luminous. Families and friends gather together to share mooncakes and appreciate the radiant beauty of the night sky – a custom that signifies unity and happiness.
