Two generations of singing legends feature this weekend (13 & 14 December) at Alexis Bistro as Atilia performs with her famous mother Salamiah Hassan.
A singer and songwriter, her adult contemporary sound is soulful and contemplative yet deals with universal themes of life and love to which anyone can relate. Since the launch of her album Sangkar at the end of March 2007, Atilia, then the new name in Malaysian Neo-Jazz made several performance and appearances that were well received by the Malaysian public.
With her performances at various renowned venues in KL, she performed to packed houses that responded with great applause. She had at last, embarked on her musical career.
The daughter of 70s Malaysian legend “little dynamite” Salamiah Hassan, this musical prodigy wrote most of the songs in Sangkar together with Jason Voo. Her next album, Indah, featured Atilia with Jakarta based indie band Sore, their song Silly Little Things escalated her popularity and made her presence felt in Indonesia. Her next (and most recent) album, aptly titled 3, was released in 2017.
