Barrio Invites Spacetravel, Kavan & Haan 8-9 February 2019

Barrio by Pisco Bar KL presents a special weekend of guest artists with Germany based Producer SpaceTravel flying in on Friday 8 February whilst two of Singapore’s finest exports, Kavan Spruyt & Haan are set for Saturday 9th.

Barrio KL invites Spacetravel (Perlon, GER) for a very underground night this 8 February 2019.

Spacetravel stands out for his picturesque blend of esoterically crafted noises, all of which are arranged in complex, fast-paced compositions where vivid acoustic textures, human feel and risk harmonically merge. A native of Sardinia, Italy he grew up obsessing over the work of a suitably diverse range of musicians, from Pink Floyd to Aphex Twin to J Dilla and Underground Resistance. Often intersecting the frenetic hack-and-slash action and clunking sounds of arcade games, his many dexterous productions are laced in a dizzying eclecticism. The end result is an intriguing blend of fascinating sound-waves and nano-loops that always keeps the listener's attention firmly intact.

Now firmly based in Berlin, Spacetravel, much like his alias suggests, is an individual who has long harboured a deep fascination with all things futuristic. As likely to call on playful house textures as he is more electro-leaning sounds, his innovative and experimental way of working has led him to some of the contemporary scene's most innovative imprints. Since his debut release, the exceptional Galactic dropped via Binh's Time Passages, he has since racked up credits for the likes of So Inagawa's Cabaret, Mellifow, Zip and Nikolai's Perlon as well as his own label, the burgeoning Traveling Without Moving.

Just as revered a DJ as he is a producer, Spacetravel's intricate DJ style has led him to some of the world's foremost nightspots, including Panorama Bar and Club der Visionaere in Berlin, Robert Johnson in Frankfurt, Concrete in Paris and Arma 17 in Moscow. Futuristic, intelligent electronic music that touches your mind and your soul, Spacetravel truly is a talent bound for the stratosphere.

Featuring on the night as well – Uzair, Wowie and JonnyVicious

Barrio KL will be hosting two of Singapore’s finest exports, Kavan Spruyt & Haan this 9 February 2019

Kavan Spruyt belongs to today’s generation of marketers who is skilled in more than one discipline and stands out in a crowded marketplace with his strong background and insightful vision in music and nightlife marketing. As a co-founder of the Midnight Shift electronic music label, featured as one of Pulse Radio’s Top 5 South-East Asian labels, Kavan has a finger on today’s pulse whilst continuously evolving with the electronic music scene since the 1990s. Kavan displays his creative flair with the ability to strike a balance in achieving street-cred and mass appeal in programming.

Introducing Haan – the techno underdog of Singapore. With almost a decade’s worth of experience behind the console, it was his passion for vinyl records that kick started the self-taught DJ’s career. Since then, Haan has developed a unique style of house and techno music that’s brimming with groove, taking him across the deepest and darkest corners of the island’s clubbing circuit. Describing his sound as dark yet melodic, Haan quotes the likes of TIN MAN, Redshape, Locked Groove and Broken English Club as his musical inspiration. Staying true to his style – one that transcends genres – he brings it in a big way to the most discerning of dancefloors.

Recent years have seen Haan on an upward trajectory, paving his way to become a household name in the local nightlife scene with new heights and adventures. He caught the attention of TropicLab and was invited to join the collective. He was also on the bill for Super 0’s Openair Festival and things quickly escalated from there. He also ran his #ashtag nights at Kilo Lounge and Leftbank at Cato Singapore.

With support on the night from Ed Dix and Alam
