Beatmilitia Frequency Radio Show to Feature Singapore's DJ Aldrin

KL-based house techno collective Beatmilitia has been one of a handful of local underground dance music purveyors keeping the music alive through the last year of various CMCOs, RMCOs and MCOs with their weekly Frequency Radio Show every Friday.

They've been featuring our own local purveyors of house, tech house and techno from across the Malaysian spectrum with a few regional guests along the way.

This week – enter Asian electronica legend – Singapore's DJ Aldrin – a familiar face (with familiar sounds) to underground dance music fans locally certainly, as he's been a most regular visitor to our shores over the past 25 years.

Aldrin has been a key figure in building up Singapore's vibrant dance scene since before the turn of the millennium, championing his genre-bending sets through his signature 'ONE with Aldrin' nights at the legendary Zouk Club in Singapore, and guest spots all over the globe, including clubbing capitals like Ibiza, Berlin, London, New York and Tokyo.

Over the decades, Aldrin's been voted “Best Local DJ” in both Juice & I-S Magazines in Singapore; nominated as “Best New Comer” for the Ibiza DJ Awards while UK's Dance Magazine Muzik referred him as Asia’s Number One DJ.

Aldrin has dabbled in several other projects, performing a 2-night sold-out concert with Singaporean classical heroes T'ang Quartet. Aldrin was also commissioned as Music Arranger for Singapore's National Day Parade (NDP2013); mixed music for local musical Detention Katong; and was the Artistic Director for One More Time, a massive production in 2017 that saw Aldrin curate the music, and perform live alongside a 50-piece orchestra, paying tribute to 25 years of dance music history.
