Already a thriving brand in Singapore, the masterminds behind the fine dining, bar and club atop the Marina Bay Sands Hotel bring a stylish new entertainment venue to the heart of KLCC. Situated on the Level 37 Sky Terrace of the Ilham Tower on Jalan Binjai, Cé La Vi offers the discerning Kuala Lumpur night owls a fantastic time.
The relaxed but stylish dining room seats 57 inside and 50 outside on the wraparound sky terrace. The restaurant is illuminated by beautiful Tiffanyesque chandeliers and the muted tones allow the floor to ceiling windows do their job of showcasing the city below. With an in-restaurant sushi bar and a menu that reflects all Asian cuisines, the chef brings a touch of Malaysia by using mainly locally sourced ingredients. After sampling the modern take on Asian cuisine in the beautifully appointed restaurant, why not have a post-meal tipple in the adjacent lounge? With high bar tables dotted around the room, DJ from 6pm to 1am daily and a bar serving a myriad of delectable cocktails (try the Passionata - it is a divine award-winning concoction of tequila, passion fruit liquor, passion fruit juice, lime juice and basil), and other drinks, you might not want to leave.
Amble out onto the sky deck seating area with stunning views of the city skyline, including views of the KL Tower and one of the Petronas Towers and sip your cocktail as the setting sun takes the city from day to night and the skyline twinkles and shines.
Near the deck area, there is a private cigar room hidden behind a red velvet curtain, reminiscent of a gentleman’s study. With a black leather Chesterfield suite taking up the middle and antique style travelling trunks and various other tastefully chosen items dotted around the room, you might feel like you are in a whole other world.
As the night wears on, it is time to put on the dancing shoes and move across the hall to the club. The Singaporean version of Cé La Vi makes DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs and it is anticipated that KL will follow suit if the quality of DJ’s tipped to play on the regular are anything to go by. The club’s dance floor is small but with 3 VIP booths either side of the raised DJ box and ample tables dotted around the room, the club can host 350 patrons.
The Dress code is smart casual and there is a cover charge of 45MYR unless you have reserved a table. Don’t forget to bring a valid photo id or your passport as it will be checked upon entry. Once in, you will be treated to a state of the art audio-visual Madrix technology and Void sound system ensuring that the tunes are banging and the dancing doesn’t stop. Open from 10 pm until late Wednesday to Saturday, the club is sure to be a hit with the fashionable KL set.
