MyDance Alliance and The Actors Studio's Dancebox series that's been running for the past 20 years makes a return, this time streaming to your screen through CloudTheatre, 8.30 pm this Saturday 29 May and Sunday 30 May, featuring the following new short works by dancers from Malaysia, filmed at The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, to watch on your digital device:
Matt Tan and his Balinese contemporary dance piece performed by Ong Jee Teng. Dancers from New Gens dance company choreographed by Fione Chia. Puteri Aisya and her dance crew. Bee Hung and her contemporary dance piece 'Ode To It'. A collaborative work by Winnie Xuan and Syamil Norzalahuddin. Christine Chew and her contemporary dance piece 'SHE=Shhhhhhh' performed by Ng Po Qin. Ula Wyss presents 'Dreams' with her four female dancers. The video work 'BAKAR' by Leow Hui Min & Jackey Chan.
The Dancebox series is an ongoing project that has been run in partnership by MyDance Alliance and The Actors Studio since 2001. It is an informal performance platform that presents short works of Malaysian dance.
