The genre-bending experience of Dictatorship continues as they celebrate their 2nd anniversary on the 31st May and welcome Thomas Von Party - Multi Culti and Turbo Recordings label impresario, psychedelic party wizard and owner of one of Montreal's coolest clubs Datcha.
A DJ first and foremost, he’s a mainstay in Montreal’s thriving electronic music scene, having performed at all the major Montreal events: Piknic Electronik, Mutek, Igloofest, Stereo, Neon, and countless underground events. In 2014 Von Party opened Datcha, ranked by Cult Mtl as the top night club in the city, where he is music programmer and resident DJ.
In late 2013 Von Party co-founded Multi Culti: a label and production duo (alongside Dreems) dedicated to far out, exotic, psychedelic music. 2014 saw him release his first original material on Turbo with New Jack Tribal, as well as an EP for Multi Culti and remixes for Alixander III (Azari & III) and Trances (El Guincho).
Dictatorship is a party concept that celebrates dance music as an art form and creates an unexpected experience for the guests. A music exploration not bound by any genre that encourages the performers to showcase their eclectic selections and go out of their comfort zone.
They are also excited to announce the return of Slow Motion Society for the warm-up duties. Slow Motion Society is a collective comprised of various Dictatorship residents that focuses on the downtempo side of disco, house and techno music spectrum.
