The Festive Dulang Set will be available in the beautiful Thai inspired surroundings of Tamarind Hills from May 13 until June 4, offering up Kampung Style food elevated to fine dining status. The set is designed for 2 people and comes presented in 7 bowls arranged on a tray with various delights, a large bowl of Jasmine rice on the side.
One of the bowls contains an appetiser in the form of crispy deep-fried Spring Rolls containing glass noodles and mushrooms. They are served with the all important chilli dipping sauce. Get your saliva really flowing by tucking into a fresh salad made from winged beans, minced chicken and Tom Yum paste before delving into the other bowls of deliciousness.
Work your way through this feast fit for royalty including 3 seafood dishes, a Massaman beef curry and of course some chicken. The grilled seabass is wrapped in turmeric leaf and served with “Sambal Kicap”. The inky black sambal is a perfect counterbalance to the meaty fish and the flavour from the turmeric leaf adds an extra layer of flavour to this dish. Next up is a fishy favourite of salted fish stir fried with fresh kailan to ensure you get some greens and completing the sea three is squid perfectly cooked in a sambal petai.
The Thai inspired Massaman beef curry brings a mild rich flavour to the feast and is beautifully in tune with the theme of the restaurant while the home-style honey grilled chicken will have every meat-eater smacking their lips and demanding the recipe.
As if there was not enough food, the menu offers a natural sweet note to end the meal in the form of a mixed fruit platter consisting of papaya, watermelon and dragon fruit. To quench your thirst while savouring the flavours, you are offered a choice of tamarind, lemongrass and sirap bandung drinks as part of the set.
