Dragonfly KL hits up the weekend with a Grand Launch from Thursday 5 to Saturday 7 September 2019 featuring guests Kaskade, Patricia Schuldtz, Jade Rasif and Sick Individuals.
Multi GRAMMY Award-nominated musician Kaskade has been a ground breaking innovator in the dance music world, and a titan in the music industry as a whole. While bridging the gap between old school music purists and a new generation of music lovers, he marries genres and twists labels to stay true to his roots while pushing the boundaries of what’s next.
Relentlessly touring the world and playing to millions of people around the globe, Kaskade has been in the trenches for over a decade. His handwriting can be read all over the history of electronic music while his influence maintains an all-time high.
Patricia Schuldtz has been considered as one of the pioneers of female DJs in Indonesia. She rose to the top of the R&B Jakarta scene back in 2001 while she was studying in Australia. After years being in the hip hop industry, she decided to broaden her horizons into house music. She has since held gigs around Indonesia’s major clubs in more than 25 cities, around South East Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, and played alongside international DJs such as Dennis Ferrer, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Havana Brown, Jochen Miller, Gorilaz Sound System and Laidback Luke. Jade Rasif is a Singaporean actress and DJ. She is known for playing Sheila Oh on Tanglin seasons 1-3 and for placing first runner-up in New Paper New Face 2013. Jade Rasif being a DJ has spread her joy of music to many people through multiple performances, she has performed in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. She is currently the highest paid DJ in Singapore as of 2017.
Sick Individuals are setting new boundaries, with numerous worldwide hit singles to their name, support from the biggest artistes in electronic dance music and pop music and an international tour schedule that has notched up an impressive array of appearances at the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals – Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, Sensation, Mysteryland, Creamfields, Ushuaïa and DLDK to name but a few – Sick Individuals continue to set new boundaries with each passing year! Coming from the Netherlands, where there genuinely seems to be something in the water when it comes to electronic dance music success, the pair have released on some of the world’s most influential imprints – Revealed Recordings, Spinnin’ Records, Warner, Interscope, def jam and capital. Recognizing the power that the internet gave them to give fans constant access to their music, Sick Individuals launched their own radio show; ‘THIS IS SICK’. The pair manipulate visuals and audio in real time direct from the DJ booth, creating a whole new immersive experience for fans who flock to see them play.
Handling resident duties and support for Dragonfly KL all three nights will be Kenji and Phileon.
