Off The Record is a party series dedicated to all the dance music variations in the warm and fuzzy spectrum, music that has been produced off the beaten path, on white labels or simply yet to be released. Featuring DJ NiiNa and Meliha this Friday, 13 April at Drop KL with Music you can sing along on because it's an integral part of music history. Music that gives you goosebumps even though you haven't heard it on the radio. Music that you hear for the first time at Drop KL long before it becomes a popular hit. Music that heightens your senses and makes you dance.
Swedish export, NiiNA is traveling the world, weaving effortlessly through dance music genres, soulful house, deep house, tech house, techno, leftfield breaks and nu-disco, NiiNA has the crowd on her side through a combination of technical ability, passion for music and sublime sense of taste.
For the past 15 years, self-made Scandinavian DJ, NiiNA has called Bali home and uses it as a hub to travel and play across the globe. A passionate music lover without formal music education, she was voted best DJ 2009 by The Yak magazine / Bali. NiiNA has expanded her musical repertoire far beyond the first sounds she played when she arrived in Asia from Europe in 2002.
Bali’s first DJ residency using international talent was NiiNA’s, at the legendary Double Six. She swiftly claimed it as her own after her first appearance. NiiNA has held residency at the iconic and quintessential Ku De Ta since 2004, demonstrating her ability to keep within sight not only the underground clubs, but also the high-end lifestyle venues. This dedication has enabled a global reputation.
It’s easy to see why NiiNA has been described as the “stately queen of progressive house”, “one of the legendary international DJ’s of Bali” and “queen of deep”. Meliha will be featuring for the night as well.
