Drummerscape to celebrate all things percussion with concert & workshop

Drummerscape, a concert and workshop celebrating all things percussion on the 27th of March at Wisma Bentley Music, Mutiara Damansara, features drumming bands such 1drum.org, Batteryheadz, Dhol Ambassadors, Geng Wak Long, Hands Percussion, Masana Kali, and White Percussion Unit.

Malaysia has strong, diverse cultures, and part of that is music, especially percussion instruments. "Drummerscape represents a love letter to traditional and contemporary drum enthusiasts, intending to give these performing artists the much-needed exposure that they deserve," said Rohit Rampal, the Chief Executive Officer of Hitman Group. "The fun-filled workshops will also provide an engaging source of education and entertainment for the younger demographic."

Starting at 2:00pm and ending by 5:00pm, Drummerscape includes workshops such as Karnival Anak Samba Malaysia, Jom Wayang Kulit, Masters of Percussion, Drumline 101, Pump up the Bhangra, and will culminate with a community drum circle. The drum circle is a spotlight in which participants can pick up a drum or any other musical instrument, and play along with others in an orchestrated jamming session.

The performing bands for Drummerscape such as Hands Percussion and 1drum.org, have toured internationally in festivals like the World Music Festival Taiwan 2019 and the 35th International Festival “Les Sacres Du Folklore”. Additionally, there will be a variety of drumming instruments and rhythms, including batucada or Brazilian, dhol and bhangra, urumee melam, marching drums, as well as traditional Malay instruments.

For percussion lovers and enthusiasts, this event is an opportunity to fully immerse and escape into a festival of drums. For tickets and more information, visit www.hitmanlive.com/events/drummerscape.
