Desa Sri Hartamas 'Groove The Disco' starts the first in a series of throwback parties with the infamous DV8 Club (circa 1989-2005) bringing to you the DJs and grooves that echoed through the walls of club Syabas in PJ. Time to relive those memories at One Night Only at DV8 which starts at 10 pm till late this Friday 1 February 2019.
In its time, DV8 had more than a dozen DJs who performed there, many more also jammed there as well. The club was very popular among PJ party goers and airline crews. The KL clubbers would come in later.
The club was also used by major recording labels for artiste album launches like Janet & Prince as the DJs had a niche for pushing tracks to become popular in the nightlife industry back then.
You would look forward to rare new wave hits, disco, hip hop and old skool R&B. Even a dash of rock. Friday nights at DV8 was the most popular event in the Klang Valley in its day which prioritises grunge, alternative rock and more genres of rock as well as the early days of electronic music from drum’n’bass and leftfield to trance and house.
DJs featured for this special throwback party include DJs Nesh, Richard, Jason Khoo and Bernie. Tables are all by reservation. Walk-ins are welcome but will depend on the waiting list.
