These are my pastiches of the KL Underground Dance Music Scene seen and heard from my eyes and hearts as I traversed the scene over the years.
This week moves forward from last week's 2008 at Zouk KL to 2015 right in the middle of downtown KL at Changkat Bukit Bintang, KL, pretty much the commercial bar, bar club hive of the city, alongside the more underground vibes of nearby Jalan Mesui.
Play for Passion (P4P) is a Malaysian based DJ community united for its passion in non-mainstream electronica, an important criteria in its music policy. Initiated by a small group of Malaysian DJ/Producers led by DJ Kumaraza Placebo, nurtured by P4P's large pool of underground talents, their 12-hr Sunday events during 2015-2017 in Kuala Lumpur featured a fresh line-up of local and international guest DJs.
This playlist is from 2015 when P4P held roost on Sundays at where it began - Elevate, Changkat Bukit Bintang, bang in the middle of downtown KL. A small taste of the vast array of underground styles from over 100 Djs who have graced the P4P decks.
