Joanne Kam embarks on her one-woman La La Lian comedy special Tour, hitting major cities in Malaysia including Kuala Lumpur at PJ Live Arts on 26 & 27 October.
Joanne Kam’s 90-minute showcases her complexity in writing and wit, as she entertains with a blend of comedy storytelling. Getting up close and personal, Joanne takes audiences on a whirlwind journey of an animated child who grew up to be Malaysia’s longest running stand-up comedian. From her nomadic life’s journey (Ipoh, Penang, Johor and eventually Kuala Lumpur) to her 26 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Joanne shares stories from her first entry in the dim lit backstages of Haw Par Villa, to the blinding lights in Boom Boom Room, to the empowering Super Kam (all femme comedy series), and now with her own nationwide tour of her one woman show.
Joanne’s struggles, accomplishments, and achievements are just the tip of the iceberg. The special will see this wonder woman baring nearly all (a woman still keeps some secrets), giving audiences an insight into how a feisty, determined individual turned herself into Malaysia’s Comedy Sweetheart.
Let this single mother brings you the tea and the shade of it all- telling us how she became one of Malaysia’s icons of comedy amidst trials and tribulations; juggling laughter between heartaches, and headaches with fluctuating body weight.
