This weekend sees an action-packed flurry of events with live Music, DJs and Social Sunday at W Kuala Lumpur's WET® Deck and Woobar.
Jungle City Beats CNY Special featuring Hayze and Axel Groove 28 January 2023
Jungle City Beats sees stellar regional DJs across Asia honing their decks. For this edition, they welcome Hayze; a visionary singer-songwriter, producer, musician, performer and DJ who will take to the decks at WET® Deck this Saturday.
Hayze is our most successful electronic dance music export and has been a consistent presence in the dance music underground this millennium. He was also a major presence in the Malaysian pop, soul, R&B scene for the decade before that.
Hayze’s résumé reads like a who’s who of house music royalty, recording collaborations with the likes of Noir, Full Intention, Shapeshifters, Dave Penn, Kings of Tomorrow, Sandy Rivera, Nic Fanciulli, MJ Cole, Skylark, Audiowhores, Danism and Solomun.
In the early 2000s, his Changes track with Kings of Tomorrow topped the UK dance charts, while Dreams (also with Kings of Tomorrow) remains one of his great dance anthems of all time. His Ibiza anthem Freak with Sandy Rivera reached #6 on the Dutch charts in 2007 while his hit Around garnered a highly-prized spot in the Top 50 Dance anthems of all time according to MixMag in 2013. More recent anthems include Closer, Angel, Believer and Brighter Days.
Be entertained by the spirited display of acrobatic lion dance performance overlooking the Petronas Twin Towers, a sight you do not want to miss. On support early will be Axel Groove.
