Until JULY 7: The Phantom of the Opera is HERE in KL
The world’s most popular musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA continues its premiere in Kuala Lumpur for a limited season at the Istana Budaya, Jalan Tun Razak, KL until July 7. The Andrew Lloyd Webber blockbuster has won over 70 major theatre awards, including seven Tony’s on Broadway and four Olivier Awards in the West End. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA became the longest running show in Broadway history on January 9, 2006 when it celebrated its 7,486th performance, surpassing the previous record holder “Cats”. On January 1, 2018 it celebrated its 13,000th performance and later that month on January 24, the Broadway production celebrated an amazing 30 years on Broadway.
With 130 cast, crew and orchestra members, jaw-dropping scenery, breathtaking special effects and more than 230 costumes by the late international designer Maria Björnson, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA contains some of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most famous and stirring music, including The Phantom of the Opera, Think of Me and Music of the Night. The original cast recording, with over 40 million copies sold worldwide, is the best-selling cast recording of all time. Tickets are now on sale through TicketCharge.

JUNE 21/22: Crackhouse Comedy Club presents Scott Agnew (SCO)
Scott Agnew is a critically acclaimed, Glaswegian stand-up comedian. Agnew is considered one of the best story tellers in the business, with his sell-out Edinburgh 2012 show at The Stand, 'Tales Of The Sauna' receiving critical acclaim across the board, and being taken to be performed at London's West End Soho Theatre. The Scottish Comedian of the Year 2008 and former journalist has a number TV presenting credits (MTV, BBC Three, STV) and radio appearances (BBC FiveLive, BBC Radio Scotland, Clyde 1, Galaxy FM) under his belt.
He’s performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (featuring on Fringe favourites such as 'Late’n’Live', 'Spank' and Just the Tonic’s 'Big Value' showcase as well as The Stand’s 'Best of Scottish Shows'), New York Comedy Festival and Prague Praha Fringe Festival, as well as hosting in front of 8000 at Glasgow’s Gay Pride march in 2012. As his acclaim continues to grow, Agnew has been asked to support HBO’s Jim Jeffries on the Scottish leg of his tour, Kevin Bridges at the music festival Rockness, as well as Perrier winner Sean Hughes at the same festival the following year.

JUNE 21/22: Ciaran Lyons at TJF
Ciaran Lyons is verifiably one of Australia’s fastest-rising stand-up comedy stars and media personalities. Since being awarded the Artists’ Choice award at the Wild West Comedy Fest in 2015 and Next Gen Comedian by the Perth Comedy Festival at just sixteen years of age, Ciaran has been nominated for Best Comedy at FRINGE WORLD, hand-picked by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for their prestigious Comedy Zone showcase of the hottest new comics in Australia and was honoured alongside Tame Impala, Troye Sivan and Danny Green by The Sunday Times as one of WA’s Hottest 100 People of 2016.
His TV and radio credits include regular guest reporting for Channel Ten’s The Project, stand-up performances on ABC TV’s Comedy Bites *Gala, triple j’*s Good Az Friday live show (broadcast from Melbourne Town Hall for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival). He regularly presents on national youth station triple j, where he has been heard solo hosting every show from the early morning shift to the Breakfast Show and Drive.
Now based in Sydney, Lyons is a regular at all the major comedy venues and festivals across Australia and is a firm fixture in Australia’s stand-up comedy and media landscape.
