Open Crack at Crackhouse Comedy

Is the smoking ban taking a toll on your social life? Did you choke on your Teh Ais when you saw the Raj Banana Leaf video? Do you wish you could tell all the racist people in the country to get lost? Or do you do a mean impression of Siti Kasim? Open Crack! open-mic night could be for you. Participants are given 3 minutes of stage-time and absolutely anyone can participate!

Rojak Comedy! Mixed-lingo open mic show for English / BM audiences only. It’s a mash up of Malaysian humour delivered in our mother tongue of Bahasa and the tongue of our colonial invaders. Rojak Comedy menampilkan persembahan komedi "Stendap" di dalam Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Inggeris!

1MCB at TJF

In the aftermath of GE14, a fellowship of comics joined hands to form 1Malaysia Comedians Bureau (1MCB). Proudly and unabashedly Malaysian, 1MCB presents its first ever show at The Joke Factory. Featuring Brian Tan, Gajen Nad, Keren Bala Devan, Shamaine Othman and Sulaiman Azmil! With humour that straddles popular culture, politics, food (vegetarian and non-vegetarian – 1MCB caters to all!), history, international and domestic relations, love, science and technology, movies, music and even the elusive field of vexillology, an evening with 1MCB promises to be a side-splitting journey of laughter and hilarity!

Crackhouse presents Freddy Quinne

(October 4-5)

One of the UK’s biggest club comics is bringing his unique comic voice to the Crackhouse. Award-winning comedian Freddy Quinne is a comedic tour-de-force! Having seen a meteoric rise into some of the bigger clubs in the UK, Quinne is one act not to be missed. Power packed punchlines coupled with remarkable crowd work are all backed by frantic energy and raw emotion to create a storm of laughter whenever he steps on stage.  Based in Manchester, Freddy Quinne has gained a legion of fans where he goes with his uncompromising honesty. He was the first comic in the UK to record an album comprising solely of crowd work and has performed across the globe.

Nigel Ng at TJF

Nigel Ng is a Malaysian stand-up comedian based in London. He made his TV debut in 2018 on Comedy Central’s Rob Delaney’s Stand Up Central, shortly followed by Comedy Central’s Roast Battle. He had an incredible debut run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year with his sell out show Culture Shocked, and to top it off, he was nominated for the prestigious Best Newcomer Award. He won the Amused Moose Laugh Off 2016 and was runner up in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year 2015. He was also a finalist in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2016 and Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2015 competitions. He was selected to perform in The Pleasance Comedy Reserve at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017.
