All That Glitz and Glamour (On the Silver Screen) 开麦啦！银海幻歌璀璨夜 from 14 – 16 April 2023 at Stage 1, PJPAC.
Movieland. The silver screen. “Light, “Camera” and “Action.” Take a musical trip through yesteryears’ movies and relive the magic of signature song and dance hits of the Mandarin Golden Oldies era (1930s-1960s) when the cinemascopes of opulent Shanghai and the flourishing city of Hong Kong reigned supreme.
Shaw Brothers and Cathay Cinema spearheaded the musical genres on the silver screens, reaching far into the Chinese communities in Southeast Asia. Enjoy a sumptuous visual feast of signature songs and dance tunes – popularized by Zhou Xuan, Bai Guang, Li Xianglan, Yao Lee, Lin Dai, Ge Lan, etc. – from the days of black-and-white films to the contemporary films in technicolor.
This is a Dama Asia Production produced and directed by Khor Seng Chiew, Pun Kai Loon, Melissa Teoh, Jojo Wong, Loh Ui Li and more.
