Pentas 1: 21 July 2023: Voices of Lingnan: Concert by Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble. Malaysia Century Chinese Orchestra (MCCO) will be collaborating with Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble (HKWINDPIPE) from Hong Kong SAR, China to present a concert with the theme of “Voices of Lingnan” and showcase a series of wonderful works that embody the culture of Hong Kong music.
This collaboration will not only stop at this concert. MCCO and HKWINDPIPE are also collaborating again to present two concerts with the theme of “Perayaan”, featuring contemporary Chinese orchestra works by Malaysian composers.
22 and 23 July 2023: 欢庆 Perayaan. Malaysia is a beautiful country that is well known for its diversified cultures. Malaysia Century Chinese Orchestra (MCCO) will be collaborating with Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble (HKWINDPIPE) from Hong Kong SAR, China to showcase contemporary Chinese Orchestra works by Malaysian composers, portraying different ethnic and diverse cultural elements from East Malaysia’s indigenous music to Peranakan with the theme of “Perayaan”.
Pentas 2: 21 July to 6 August 2023: The Producers - A Musical Comedy by Mel Brooks. A scheming producer and his mousy accountant aim to produce the biggest flop on Broadway in Mel Brooks’ laugh-out-loud spectacle. Bialystock and Bloom! Those names should strike terror and hysteria in anyone familiar with Mel Brooks’ classic comedy film. Now as a big Broadway musical, The Producers once again sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humour. It is a truly “boffo” hit, winning a record twelve Tony Awards and wowing capacity crowds night after night.
