Fiji Blue at REX KL 24 November 2022
Symmetry Entertainment presents Fiji Blue Live in KL at REX KL this Thursday.
Dreamy and lush maestro Fiji Blue aka Trevor Dering will be making his Malaysian debut. The LA-based artist sets wistful lyrics to laid-back dance grooves, dubbing their sound "sad boy chill house." Mixing indie, R&B, and singer/songwriter influences, their self-released singles such as 2020's Butterflies have racked up millions of streams. A demo of a trap-influenced R&B song titled Indigo was uploaded to SoundCloud in 2018, and official singles Space Makes Me Sad, Numb, and Day by Day all appeared in 2020, gradually taking the Fiji Blue sound in a more house-influenced direction. Full-length debut I Loved You, What Happened? released this year.

Yussef Dayes at REX KL 25 November 2022
Yussef Dayes the inspirational UK Jazz drummer is coming to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur for a special intimate set, brought to you by RK Live and Collective Minds. One of the breakout players of the South London jazz scene, Yussef Dayes will make his debut performance in Kuala Lumpur on 25 November 2022 at REX KL.
Yussef has been deeply involved in the new UK jazz scene. Apart from his solo work he is known for his work with his brothers in United Vibrations, his spell binding collaboration with Tom Misch and also as one half of electrifying duo Yussef Kamaal, he’s been developing his sound since age four when his dad bought him his first drum kit. Yussef Kamaal emerged in 2015 as a partnership between Yussef Dayes and fellow Londoner Kamaal Williams, and their 2016 album Black Focus has been one of the most heralded jazz records of recent times. In 2018 Yussef Dayes began releasing his first solo tracks, before partnering with Tom Misch in 2020 to record their acclaimed joint album What Kinda Music as well as release solo live album Welcome to the Hills. Black Box: 25-27 November 2022: Putting It Together: A Tribute To Stephen Sondheim. Stephen Sondheim was a great composer and lyricist for many a beloved musical, and 26th November 2022 marks one year since the world lost this great man. A collaboration between Vox Inspira and two highly regarded a capella ensembles, The Vochale Project and Incidentals, "Sondheim : Putting it Together" will be paying tribute to Sondheim, a year on, by bringing you on a musical journey through the years. This concert aims to raise funds for children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), the number one genetic cause of infant death, and children with disabilities.
