Malaysia’s funniest women will take the stage in their favourite Halloween costume and deliver a night of ghoulish hilarity! Daring to step into the October line up is fairly new comedienne in the KL scene Bella! Don’t be fooled by her very demure, very modest appearance, she’ll have you eating her punchlines from the palm her hand… Watch out for next comedienne Piravina, as she is known to be edgy, she blends sharp, biting wit with self-awareness, and often pushes the boundaries and confronting societal expectations in a candid no holds barred way. Headlining their spooktacular October edition of Monday Night Laughs is one of the pioneer women to breakthrough in the comedy scene in 2008, Shamaine Othman. She’s known for her warm Malay charm, and her approachable personality. She draws her comedy from her quirky family, using self-deprecating humour to share stories of her wild relationship sagas. Her infectious energy and relatable delivery make her a crowd favourite and the Malaysian can’t get enough of her.

Pentas 2: 24 to 27 October 2024. Whether in festivals or fairy tales, the moon is a recurring imagery in Chinese culture and folklore. In KonTra: Yuèguāng 月光, six of Malaysia’s most exciting choreographers showcase their contemporary dance works inspired by traditional Chinese culture and beliefs. Expect a diverse and refreshing line up of new dance pieces, each showcasing the choreographers’ individual style and cleverly infused with traditional Chinese elements. Helmed by dancer-choreographer Zhafir Muzani, KonTra is an on-going mixed bill, experimental dance series. Its title marries the Malay word for ‘kontemporari’ (contemporary) and ‘tradisional’ with the hope of injecting creativity and innovation to traditional arts, sparking renewed interest among the young and driving new creative works by dance artistes that still honour our heritage and traditions.
Indicine: Test is Best is a comedy show featuring some of Malaysia’s funniest comedians testing their brand new material. Watch these comedians take the stage to craft their jokes, refine new routines and explore new comedic territory. The stage truly is the only place for comedians to know if they’re funny, so come out and witness the birth of something hilarious. Next show is on 12 November 2024. 8.30pm.

The Canadian Rajah written by Dave Carley 24 – 27 October 2024. History has obliterated the name of Esca Brooke from its pages because it was believed that only an English can become the heir and Rajah of Sarawak. Throughout his life, Esca Brooke Daykin tried to claim his heritage as the first born son of Rajah Charles Brooke. In this play, Dave Carley takes dramatic licence in the telling of the story of a man who spent a lifetime enduring the ghosting from his birth family. His final (and made up) meeting with the Ranee Margaret in London to make one more bid to reinstate his Brooke heritage reveals a vengeful woman, a product of her times.
