Prepare to be enchanted by the return of Junji Delfino and her mesmerising vocals, as we revel in the Good Friday weekend on 29 and 30 March 2024 at Simply Jazz. Junji Delfino is a prominent figure in the Malaysian jazz and performing arts communities. Coming from a family with a rich musical legacy in the Philippines, she discovered her love for jazz at a young age. Over the years, Junji has established herself as a respected jazz vocalist, cultivating a unique sound and style that is entirely her own. With Veerapen (piano), Cliff Wong (drums) and YHFoo (bass) for two evenings of jazz.
This evening 27 March 2024, they welcome guest drummer Steve Nanda. Steve is a multi talented musician who can also play the piano and compose music! At only 16, he was awarded the prestigious title of "Best Asian Drummer" at the 2003 Yamaha Asianbeat competition. Having collaborated with various influential figures in the jazz world, such as Jeremy Monteiro and Anthony Strong, Steve demonstrated his versatility and adaptability across various genres and styles.
