Lazy Sunday ft Jean Tonique at Pisco Bar KL 1 July 2018

Pisco Bar is proud to bring, for July's Lazy Sunday on 1 July 2018, one of their favourite French artists of the moment ... Jean Tonique.

French producer and multi-instrumentalist Jean Tonique is one of the most hyped artists this year and will be flying in for July's Lazy Sunday on 1 July at Pisco Bar KL. Drawing influences from 70s funk, Jean Tonique makes an effort to distance himself from genre-defining elements while approaching his music from an organic and raw song writing perspective. Using elements from hip hop, house, and 70s/80s funk, the multifaceted producer likes to draw people in with the malleable dynamics of his music.

After remixes of Lana Del Rey, Outkast, The Kooks and many more, Jean Tonique has broken into the online market through being a regular fixture on Hype Machine’s Top 10 and growing recognition from media outlets. Now, growing on his French electronic music notoriety, Jean Tonique is expanding his presence with the release of "You" EP via Yuksek's label Partyfine - bringing that old school, happy vibe that made us fall in love with funky house.

After two EPs, he starts piecing together what will become his first album, around multiple influences, with the extensive use of talk box, popularized by Zapp, Snoop Dogg, Kraftwerk and Daft Punk. This particular instrument is what modulate the vocal parts, and turns it into funky, robotic sounds.

As a sound and machines maestro, Jean Tonique plays all the instruments on the album, but he selected a few guests for the vocal parts, US rapper Ciscero, young soul diva Keyone Starr, Dabeull and the famed Etienne de Crécy.
The event will be supported by CzuCzu aka Joanna Romanczukiewicz, Robotron 5000 aka Farez Khan and JonnyVicious aka Jonathan Öozel Charles
