Le Noir KL continues it's rooftop House vibes this weekend (10 & 11 August) at Trec with Fridays Tales of the Terrace featuring Bryan Burger and Eugene whilst Saturday welcomes Circuitbreaker and Ken DMA for Sing it black.
Le Noir KL presents Tales of the Terrace Fridays on the roof 10 August 2018 with Bryan Burger and Eugene playing you deep proggy, tech house, Afro House and techno for the night.
Eugene's passion for dance and electronica music was borne in London England, whilst studying Fine Art at the Central St Martins School of Art & Design. It was during this period that Eugene developed his turntable skills, after being exposed to the numerous underground sounds of dub, speed garage, hardcore house, techno and drum’n’bass in a variety of locations in and around London, ranging from small clubs to super clubs.
Having resided in London for over eight (8) years from 1989 - 1997, Eugene was fortunate enough to experience the growth and fracturing of the UK dance scene, first hand.
With the initial birth of the pirate radio stations in London and the underground railway parties, right through to the current super clubs and one-off events, it was clear that Eugene was captivated by the whole concept of the dance and club culture.
As one of Malaysia’s pioneers of the electronic dance music scene, Eugene was one of those instrumental in making KL something of a clubbing capital with the constant organising of numerous pioneering warehouse and outdoor parties, including the creation and conceptualization of the legendary Tempo and Regenerate party event organisers, tplus he Movement KL and Carbon Club at the beginning of this millennium.
As a DJ, his mixing style is smooth and seamless, often riding the line between funky electro and tech-house and quality deep house, and, back in the day, drum’n’bass as well.
Fast forward to today, Eugene is now a fashion designer/DJ who is coming back with a new sound that focuses on deep melodic house or dirty tech-house to techno depending on the venue.
Bryan Burger: Music has always been an essential part of Bryan’s life being born into a household where music was a great passion. Music for him was a form of escapism, a body used to channel thought. His passion for music grew from his early childhood influence, and during his adolescence Bryan decided to transform his passion into career. He began his pursue by working in several record shops, and through contacts he applied and landed a position as organizational manager at Tempo, one of the leading pioneers of rave party and dance music event organizers of its time, and later starting up Excessive Records as well.
With sets best described as deep grooves built around a funky electro baseline with a tribal touch, Bryan has without doubt able to move the dance floor to an orgasmic crescendo. Bryan has since played alongside BT, Dave Seaman, Steve Lawler, John Digweed, Paul Van Dyk , Circulation, Deep Dish , Lee Burridge, Sven Vath to name a few club land legends.
Le Noir KL presents Sing It Black Saturdays on the roof 11 August 2018 with Circuitbreaker and Ken DMA playing house, garage, UK garage and more for the night.
Circuitbreaker started his passion for music in the late 80s with a love of early electro, then moving through genres such as acid house, techno, breakbeat and deep house. With a music collection that literally spans decades, his sets truly demonstrate the often clichéd ‘journey’, playing the latest rockin’ tunes, hypnotising bass lines, undiscovered gems and some pure grin inducing hands in the air classics.
Having played many clubs in the early nineties, under many different guises, he took a step back from the live scene, all the while continuing to provide a new mix every few months for those in the know. In the last couple of years, Circuitbreaker has stepped out of the shadow once more and taken to the decks, based here in KL for the most part.
Ken DMA: KL-based Englishman Ken DMA brings with him a wealth of experience entertaining dancefloors across Europe and Asia. Having cut his teeth in the UK drum’n’bass scene, DJing, promoting, label managing and producing, Ken has expanded beyond a singular music taste and is now known for his eclectic range of music selection. Think drum’n’bass, jungle and breakbeat to bassline house, UK garage, jackin’ house and funk & soul, and energetic DJ performances.
Currently holding residencies at Art Xtreme Media’s Taboo nights and with KL’s premier drum’n’bass nights with Loops Collective, Ken has acquired a reputation for versatility and can be heard around the city delivering high octane dance floor music.
