Le Noir KL Roof 13-14 July 2018

Le Noir KL Roof 13-14 July 2018

Le Noir KL House vibes continue this weekend (13 & 14 July) on their rooftop terrace with Fridays Tales of the Terrace and Saturdays Sing it black.

Le Noir KL presents Tales of the Terrace Fridays on the roof with house music and eclectic with Xes Xes Loveseat, Slutski, Mihow and Ed Dix 13 July 2018

Xes Xes Loveseat: Expect house, disco and eclectic selections; think dancing tunes, interplanetary sounds and cosmic funkiness from one of KL’s leading lights in vinyl culture. The uber-cool The Art of Disco video podcasts exemplify the kind of wide ranging sound that he is known for. His weekly DJ bookings would include all the main underground dance music venues such as Elysium, Pisco, Le Noir, Kyo KL and more. So far, some of the acts he has had the pleasure to open for are Apparat, Aeroplane, Hercules & Love Affair, Joey Negro, Osunlade, Robag Wruhme, Horse Meat Disco and more. Besides the usual club fare, he has curated music for art exhibitions, fashion shows and music festivals. Paras Bunyi for instance, a mind altering audio-video showcase that he co-founded, won the Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival 2016 Pitch Grant and was most recently exhibiting at Urbanscapes 2017.

Slutski: Unconfined by genre, Slutski’s DJ sets feature a broad spectrum of styles. From the deepest bass and beats of house and techno through to red hot funk and disco via sophisticated indie electronica, his selections are laden with rich musicality. Having DJ'd for over a decade, he is equally at home laying down energetic rhythms for sweaty dancefloors or creating a relaxed mood and ambience for more loungey settings. Often DJing using the classic vinyl format, Slutski continues to indulge his record collecting and crate digging addiction.

Mihow: Excellent button pusher that serves up groovy rolling basslines, dirty vocals that upset uptight people and trippy melodies with splashes of ethnic sounds. A self-described citizen of the world that has had the good fortune of growing up in the suburbs of Melbourne exposed to hip hop, punk, grunge, nu metal and electro, to living for several years in the techno obsessed playground of Amsterdam. Now Mihow calls Kuala Lumpur home and with its burgeoning underground scene he draws inspiration from its multi ethnic music influences. Generally inspired and motivated by music that bucks the status quo, Mihow strives to infuse that rebellious spirit of his youth in his performances while balancing his desire to motivate the crowd to dance like possessed cellar demons. Mihow has had the pleasure of performing in Amsterdam’s Vlla to Kuala Lumpur’s Pisco, Elysium, Privi and Kyo.

Ed Dix: A late night juggernaut in the local scene, Ed Dix is at the forefront of KL’s underground scene. In and amidst the titanic dark and underground movement lies a character who sticks out like a sore thumb with his uplifting and distinctive sound of both techno and house. The only rule is to push the boundaries of conventional electronic music, exploring new directions while never losing sight of his core passions – playing music, sharing forward thinking visions and celebrating life. Through experience playing in a range of settings, from small underground parties to big clubs and festivals, a natural path towards playing as a DJ became established and has been going from strength to strength over the past few years. Throughout his career, he held residencies in several prolific venues in KL and supported many international acts like Oliver Deutschmann, Dee Montero and Patrick Kunkel to name a few. As well as being a main collaborator of the KL-based Dictatorship after party movement he is hosting his monthly party series ANBT (Ain’t Nothing But Techno) at Privi, inviting hidden talents naturally dedicated to the music he likes.
