Le Noir KL continues it's House vibe this weekend on their uber cool rooftop terrace at Trec with Fridays Tales of the Terrace featuring Spanish born Dj and Producer Road to Mana and locally based Otherkind whilst Saturday welcomes back Alex Martin and DJ Mie for Sing it black.
Road to Mana is the brainchild of Rafael Monleon, an emerging Spain-born DJ and electronic music producer based in Kuala Lumpur. Relentless, for years he has envisioned a project to heal the body from the inside with mesmerizing melodies and impactful musical arrangements.
Inspired by the highest altitude pass in the world, Road to Mana represents the path towards a summit of mind freedom and perpetual content through music. The Mana represents the highest state of liberation where humans rise above all social norms achieving a life based on absence of judgement and distress. The project seeks to empower all individuals, with musical influence so we can reach our own peaks. As a mirror of our lives, everybody has its own Road To Mana.
Road To Mana is receiving tremendous support. Playing in some of the most important underground venues in South East Asia, including Elysium + The Sweatbox (Malaysia), Privi KL(Malaysia), Monkey Bar (Thailand) and Samed Songkran Festival (Thailand). With several projects in the pipeline and scheduled releases with Dear Deer Records (Ukraine), Soul de Anima (UK/Mal) and Sweatbox Records (UK/Mal), Road To Mana is establishing himself as an emerging groundbreaking force centred in Asia. In an era where music has been commoditized, Road to Mana brings inspiration to a generation, aiming at liberating souls and empowering spirits to fly high and be free.
OtherKind – The Sweatbox resident features tonight as well. A talented DJ/Producer, with releases on Kommunication Records and Sweatbox Records, Otherkind is a force in our music world. Intelligent selector, master of live interpretations. Hailing from Tehran, Otherkind is an exciting DJ with almost a decade and a half of underground experience under his belt. Having mastered the art of playing the Tumbak & ZARB, a percussion instrument specific to Iran, allows him to incorporate a specific style to his DJ sets, playful and solid and at the same time smooth and melodic. Breezing through music genres Otherkind's focus is on deep house and techno and his journey is uplifting, sensible and epic.

Alex Martin has been a fixture in the local and regional scene now for the better part of this new decade. Custodian of deep, rhythmic dance beats and a care-free atmosphere. Today this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best – beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks.. all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat.
DJ Mie has a sophisticated appeal and charisma in putting together the best music and selection in his sets. As early as his first residency in 1993, he has always put a mark of influences on people who come to listen to his musical styles, making him one of the most sought after DJs in the industry. His versatility and efficiency in changing styles make him a proud owner of his success as a disc jockey. Based in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, DJ Mie has been through many terrains in the club circuit gaining more experience and momentum through sheer consistency. He definitely has what it takes to entertain people from all walks of life, be it local and international. Whether he is easing them into a soulful vibe with the chill-out sounds of R&B, or lifting them up with pumping house, he knows how to rock a party.
