Le Noir KL Roof Weekend 7-8 June 2019

Le Noir KL Roof Weekend 7-8 June 2019

Special guests join our local greats at Le Noir KL Roof Terrace this weekend for Tales of the Terrace and Sing It Black

Tales of the Terrace ft Kuma & Lion at Le Noir KL Roof this 7 June 2019.

Born in Berlin, Germany, Lion Grünenberg grew up in The Netherlands in a time when Deep House, House and Techno were being pumped in underground clubs and massive festivals alike. He started booking gigs when he lived in Myanmar, spinning at events like Rumours and Berlin that were the first seeds of the now blossoming underground scene. In 2018, Lion was directly involved with the opening of Level 2, Yangon’s first underground club.

He is still a resident there for Level 2 Sessions, a monthly concept with Myanmar’s own underground queen Yu KT and Level 2 head honcho Karl Ross. In late 2018, Lion had his festival debut playing at GODS Music Festival in a waterpark in Yangon. Now Lion produces sets in a vibrant mix of Techno, House and Deep House.

Continuing his 20 year as a DJ celebration, Kuma is back with his signature underground techno and techno based sounds at Le Noir KL Roof. Kuma’s earned himself something of a name in the Asian underground house music community, taking the music to dance floors across Asia, including the likes of Embassy (Philippines), Sound Club (Thailand), Womb (Tokyo), and festivals such as the Full Moon party on the beach of Haadrin in Koh Pangan (Thailand), Epizode (Vietnam), regular Jungle Experience (Koh Phangan) appearances to add to appearances in Singapore, Macao, Yangon, Berlin, Paris, Corsica, Amsterdam, Ibiza and many more. Also dabbling into techno productions, his first two releases last year, Kamagra and the Acid Flux EP created waves, and with regular radio show appearances on Frisky Radio and Ibiza Radio 1, plus a couple of EPs finalised, including his most recent release Saigon Express, there’s much more to come in the very near future.

Fun fact: Lion met Kuma on the very first Rumours party in Yangon in 2016, and they have already played four Rumours parties together in Yangon

Sing It Black at Le Noir KL roof this 8 June 2019 sees the return of Miguel Matoz, joining Meliha for the night.

Portugal-hailing DJ/Producer Miguel Matoz’s 2-decade long career has rendered over 100 house and techno productions, residencies from El Divino to Amnesia (some of world's biggest clubs) and collaborations with major record labels from Pena's "Flow Vinyl" to Mendo's "Clarisse Records. His focus now is on his own imprint "Souled Records", based in Thailand where he is also currently residing and also his own Souled Lab, studio focus on creating and growing some powerful and quality music of the electronic spectrum as well as supporting the regional artists through a well-appointed space where they can hone and perfect their music and production skills.

Singer, composer, and DJ, Meliha is fast becoming one of the most influential local female house music DJs taking Asia by storm with her selection of sexy dancefloor teasers. A curious one for music, her fingers seem to be the pulse of just about everything. Heavily influenced by the sounds of deep tech and techno, this songbird delivers her sets with an intricately detailed flow. Her picks are playful, surprising and melodious. Meliha is not only redefining her sound limits, however as a complete musician- singer, DJ and performer, she has been busy in the studio with releases on Soul De Anima, Anjunadeep, and Sweatbox Record, amongst others. And yes, do take note of the two collaboration releases on Anjunadeep with Dee Montero himself – “Headspace” and “In The Wild”.
