Lindy Hop Live featuring Adam Hall & The Velvet Playboys at The Bee 23 June 2018

This is actually already the third Lindy Hop Live gig of the year with the theme for this instalment: Summertime. Lindy Hop Live is a series of shows focusing on 2 things: Dancing and swing jazz.

The dancing bit will be facilitated by LindyKL who will be holding a Lindy taster class for absolute beginners. Lindy Hop is a dance popular during the Swing era of the late 1930s and early 1940s. A revival in the 80s has led to it being danced all over the world, you can find it in almost every major city on the globe. This is what it looks like:

The swing jazz bit will be facilitated by Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys, who are also performing at No Black Tie for the two days prior to this special Bee appearance on 23 June.

Adam Hall is an accomplished trumpeter, vocalist and composer based in Perth, Australia. In 2005 he formed a classic Rhythm & Blues band, ‘Adam Hall & The Velvet Playboys’. The band’s repertoire is rooted in the Jazz and Rhythm & Blues music of the 40’s and 50’s, from artists such as Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Louis Prima, Sammy Davis Junior, Harry Connick Junior, Jackie Wilson, Chuck Berry, and The Blues Brothers. They also include a large library of Adam Hall originals and unique arrangements.
