Publika Live Re(Start) kickstart the return of live music to Publika at Black Box. With Six weekends of acts starting from 27 March, the initiative is to revive the live performance industry which has been one of the main sectors affected by Covid-19 in Malaysia and coincides with the recent announcement that live events could resume from 10 March 2021.
Showcasing a host of emerging and world-class Malaysian musicians, Publika Live Re(Start) kicks off this Saturday with Evelyn Feroza & Lethrio and a debut album launch showcase for Andy Chong with his Quintet.
Evelyn Feroza & Lethrio
Born with a natural gift of song, Evelyn Feroza performs with several accomplished musicians in Kuala Lumpur's live music scene.
This songstress made a name for herself when she took centre stage at the esteemed Dewan Filharmonik at KLCC in November 2015 at the Malam Terang Bulan show with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
Evelyn continues to wow audiences with her inimitable style, warmly alluring vocals and stage presence. Her wide repertoire, ranging from jazz standards to pop, promises something for everyone.
Lethrio comprises top KL musicians Gidean Yogan on bass, Jared Cheow on drum and Dean Sim on guitar.
Andy Chong & Andy Chong Quartet
A musician by profession who has been in the industry the past 8 years, Andy Chong has worked with local and international artists like Anuar Zain, Ning Baizura, Joe Flizzow, Q Sound (US), Masia One (SG) and Juny Brothers (US). He will be joined by Julian Chan (saxophone), AJ (bass), Arthur Kam (drums) and John Dip Silas (piano)
The events will run from 8 pm - 10:30 pm admission is free and limited to 150 seats on a first come basis.
