They say that the third time’s the charm. So here they are with their THIRD installation of Kuala Lumpur’s most insane comedy festival - LOL Fest is back! Featuring over 40 comedians internationally and locally from 14 September 2018 to 20 October 2018. This time around, the festival will be at the new multifunction venue Jenerator, which is part of the newly renovated KL Citywalk.
Organized by LOL Events, this 4-week long festival will consist of a variety of comedy shows, including magic, music, improv, and so on. Kicking off the fest is Jimmy Carr, hailing all the way from the UK with his ‘Best of Ultimate’ and closing the whole run would be none other than Malaysia’s queen of comedy - Joanne Kam Poh Poh, where she will end her own national La La Lian nationwide tour in KL.
The variety fun filled festival is carefully and specially curated to smack you with laughter and keep you coming back for more with acts such as award-winning comedian magician, Jarred Fell who graces our shores with his fast-paced razor sharp wit with a tornado-like approach to magic, life, and comedy.
The festival also has all ages shows with award winning comedian magician juggler, Nick Nickolas, all the way from Australia who has over 30 years of experience in this industry. He recently received The Melbourne International Comedy Festival for Best Comedy Magic Act at the Melbourne Magic Festival. Nick Nickolas and James Bustar rounds up our shows for family friendly acts, so bring the kids along!
Our immediate neighbour Singapore also brings us the one and only Sharul Channa whose name wasn’t given by her parents but by her father’s boss. Sharul will tackle topics like the psyche of the Asian man, the funny sides of life and death, some stories from her extensive travel, and of course, she will bring back everyone’s favorite “Aunty Sunita”. And our very own homegrown Douglas Lim whose name is synonymous with comedy in Malaysia. His natural ability to bring laughter to people from all walks of life has earned him the moniker of King of Malaysian Comedy and was listed as one of the ‘Top 10 Comedians in Asia’ by Top 10 of Asia Magazine.

Malaysia’s longest running improv team AIIA, will team up with Hirzi, one half of Singapore’s famous Youtube comedic duo “Munah & Hirzi”, to bring you a one of a kind and classy improv comedy show . And back again is LOL Fest’s very own ‘Laughathon’ - a six hours long stand-up comedy show which will feature comics from across the board.
Along with these great acts, LOL Fest will also feature an all women show, a Tamil/English stand-up comedy show and Kuah Jenhan’s special one of a kind performance.
