Supporting Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s initiative to sustainability- bamboo, an easily renewable eco-friendly material, was chosen by Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur for its 2021 Mid-Autumn Festival mooncakes packaging. Presenting an exquisite collection of flavours from Lai Po Heen, the box encases six delicate mooncakes available from 1 July to 21 September 2021.
Illustrating the hotel’s stance on sustainability, the box is beautifully handcrafted and carved with the Mandarin Oriental’s signature fan emblem. An easily renewable material, bamboo grows up to three feet in just 24 hours and reach its full growth within three to four months. In addition, bamboo can absorb carbon dioxide two times more efficiently than trees.

With the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, we want to take the opportunity to encourage our guests to join us in supporting a greater purpose for sustainability, for Mother Nature,” said Christian Tavelli, General Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.
