Recently launched Malaysian based imprint and brainchild of the Kuala Lumpur collective ‘Connected’ MY Connected Records have released their debut Various Artistes compilation, following five previous EP releases.
Having risen to notoriety in the region over the last five years with their brand of events and live shows, the label continues their passionate pursuit to upkeep their founding mission statement ‘’inspire through the showcasing of local artists to the world, and artists of the world locally’’.
With five releases under its belt, now comes their first Various Artistes compilation series: Connection Vol 1, seeing an eclectic round-up of some high-energy dancefloor music.
The release consists of 6 original pieces from a total of 8 artists. Tweaken, Kiki, Moksha, Vladamir Platine, Mad Gregor, Tekzee, Moziz & Monotique join forces to deliver you a stunning body of work that's guaranteed to get body parts moving.
Ranging from the organic feels of Vladamir Palatines Fleeting Romance to Tweaken’s signature dark and trippy sound, and right through to the full-on 6 am techno vibes of Kiki's Ignorance is Evil. This offering encapsulates the label's versatility, as well as tipping the hat to its growing trademark for strong, melodic rollers. Expect intelligent, captivating leads and intricate progressions from start to finish.
The collection serves as multifaceted weaponry for any DJ or audiophile alike, according to label teasers, “taking the listener from big open expanses of perfectly harmonized, organ-like keys that gently lap against warm and rich basslines to tech-edged, laser-focused synths that stab their way along forward marching basslines”.
