RAW+ featuring Alan Tand and Ed Dix, with Victor G and Slutski

Your favourite electronica nights at Jiro KL gets big as our resident DJs Alan Tand and Ed Dix invite some of their special friends to join them behind the decks for a night of house and techno. Welcoming Victor G and Slutski for the night.

Alan Tand: Originally hailing from the Indonesian town of Goranto, on the Northern coast of the island of Sulawesi, Alan Tandako is a forward thinking DJ with the desire to learn and try new stuff; playing dance music genres spanning deep and tech house and techno.

 

Ed Dix: A late night juggernaut in the local scene, Ed Dix is at the forefront of KL’s underground scene. In and amidst the titanic dark and underground movement lies a character who sticks out like a sore thumb with his uplifting and distinctive sound of both techno and house.

 

Victor G: Techno whiz, house head and influential tastemaker are well-deserved titles Victor G has rightfully earned in his electronic dance music career. With a thriving run spanning over 15 years in the local scene, KL’s favourite deck maestro has definitely paid his dues.  From turning the wheels of steel at Bangsar’s infamous The White Room in 1999 to spinning his way to the trendiest spots today including Elysium Bar & Terrace and Kyo KL, via the likes of Euphoria by Ministry of Sound, Rootz, Nagaba KL, Twenty-One Kitchen & Bar and Blue Elephant. Victor G proves time and time again why he is still one of the most sought after DJs in the country. His method of madness is simple; consistently keeping true to his savvy style.

 

 

Slutski: Unconfined by genre, Slutski’s DJ sets feature a broad spectrum of styles. From the deepest beats and bass of house and techno through to red hot funk and disco via sophisticated indie electronica, his selections are laden with rich musicality. Having DJed for over a decade, he is equally at home laying down energetic rhythms for sweaty dancefloors or creating a relaxed mood and ambience for more loungey settings. He has featured on the DJ line-ups of clubs and club nights organised by purveyors of quality dance music in Kuala Lumpur such as Ohrwurm, The Other Party, Soul Content, Deer Society, The Sweatbox and clubs such as Elysium Bar & Terrace, Pisco Bar, Kyo KL, Jiro KL and more.

Simon Lee & Alvin: Malaysian ‘power trance’ DJ/producer duo Simon Lee & Alvin are on a meteoric rise to fame in the dance music universe, while steadily growing a dedicated fan base through their original productions, bootlegs, DJ sets, and weekly radio show that is on national broadcast.

Simon Lee & Alvin started out in 2007 releasing bootleg remixes for free and DJing at small venues. Several years later their original productions were picked up by Armada Music, Black Hole Recordings, and Enhanced Music.

To date they have released 18 smashing singles - clocking thousands of streams online, chart placings on Beatport and iTunes, and radio airplay in USA, UK, Netherlands, Germany, and Malaysia. Their music has been supported by Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, Markus Schulz, Tritonal, JES, MaRLo, Andrew Rayel, Dash Berlin, Betsie Larkin, Bobina, Fedde Le Grand, Ferry Corsten, Jochen Miller, Blasterjaxx, Paul Oakenfold, Gareth Emery, and many more, backed by positive reviews from esteemed music sites. You will also find their tracks on dance music compilations released globally, radio shows, and Spotify playlists.

 

 

The duo's single "Xcelerate" released on Armada Captivating was featured on A State of Trance radio and played by Armin van Buuren and Blasterjaxx at Tomorrowland Brasil's mainstage. Armin van Buuren has also played it at his Armin Only shows around the world and included it on his A State of Trance Yearmix.

“Xcelerate” was ranked #66 on A State of Trance Tune Of The Year 2016 based on global public voting and included on the Trance Top 1000 playlist selected by Armin. Hardwell supported their tracks “Revenger” and “Poweriser” – both were picked as Demo Of The Week on Hardwell On Air, with additional support by Andrew Rayel. Blasterjaxx dropped “Revenger” at Tomorrowland Belgium. And “Bring The Chaos” was voted Transmission Tune on Transmission Festival Radio.

Most recently they completed a remix for Grammy nominated singer/songwriter JES and released a new single “Force Forward” through Armada Captivating. They also remixed the trance classic Art of Trance “Madagascar” which saw an official release on Magik Muzik and was featured on A State of Trance, Global DJ Broadcast, and Transmission Festival Radio. Based on recent Spotify statistics, their music is heard in over 60 countries. Their releases are a constant feature on the Beatport Trance charts.

Simon Lee & Alvin's weekly radio show #FlyFiveO airs on Fly Fm nationally. Since its first broadcast in 2008, the show continues to be a leading platform for dance music in Malaysia. Beyond radio airing, the show has trended twice on Twitter, and is consistently in the global Top 100 EDM and Trance category on Mixcloud with over 4 million minutes of listening.

They also run their own record label, Unicode Recordings, which is distributed by Black Hole.

Digital Rush is one of the most impressive breakthrough talents in the world of trance music and also one of the Malaysian leading trance producers. Raising the Malaysian flag high, he has never failed to inspire the crowds and fans everywhere, breaking through the Beatport Trance Top 100 charts with his releases.  

Digital Rush aka Othman Musa’s young age never stopped him from taking the lead in the next generation of trance producers and representing the Malaysian flag all the way.

Now signed to various big labels such as Armada Music, Black Hole Recordings, VANDIT Records, Future Sound Of Egypt and others, Digital Rush is supported by major trance artists such as Armin van Buuren, Alexander Popov, Richard Durand, Bjorn Akesson, Mhammed El Alami, Monoverse, Paul van Dyk and more.

 

Listening to music from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Cosmic Gate, Aly & Fila back in 2010, marked a change for Digital Rush and his he grew in love with trance music, giving him the inspiration to make his own music, influenced by world class trance producers like Aly & Fila, Cold Rush, Richard Durand, Markus Schulz and more.

After some time, he began building his name in the trance scene in Malaysia, initially releasing tunes on small labels. In 2017, Digital Rush signed his biggest tune, 'Forever Forgotten' on Armada Music's new sub-label Interplay Recordings by Alexander Popov. World premiered by Armin van Buuren on Episode 835 of his A State of Trance (ASOT) radio show, the tune gained massive support from many international and local trance DJs and also people from all around the world with his emotional, uplifting and entrancing style of taste. He was voted Future Favourite by Armin van Buuren on Episode 836 of A State Of Trance and further featured: on Interplay Radioshow (three times) by Alexander Popov, Alex Di Stefano's FireCast Radioshow, Aly & Fila's Future Sound Of Egypt radio show, and Paul Van Dyk’s Vonyc Sessions.

Insight Code is a Malaysian DJ/Producer duo made up of Sanjjiv Kumar and Harvind Ganase. The duo hail from Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, and seek to break down the walls that confines and divides music into genres. All in the quest to find their unique, constantly evolving sound.

Adept at DJing and music production, Insight Code has their sights set on bringing their own brand of sound to the electronic music scene through their releases of mashups, remixes, original tracks and full-blown DJ mixes. The duo’s big break came in May 2016 when they were crowned winners of DJ Mag Malaysia’s Mixtape of the Month (Trance) competition, with their mix chosen over 100 other entries in the process.

What started as a love for electronic music has turned into an intense passion for music production and live performances. Each Insight Code set will take you on a journey throughout the musical spectrum. There's no telling what the future holds for this vibrant duo.

The Sound of Stadium vs The Backroom KL featuring Bobby vs Jungle Jerry

For one special night, Jiro KL are bringing onboard the sounds of two of South East Asia's biggest house and progressive legends of the past 20 years bringing you a taste of two of the most legendary clubs in the region at the turn of the millennium era – Stadium Jakarta’s DJ Bobby (IDN) and The BackRoom KL co-founder Jungle Jerry (MAL/AUS).

Jungle Jerry: Legendary. International. First class. The multitalented master of music manipulation Jungle Jerry has redefined the role of a DJ/Producer in recent years with an array of accomplishments including a record label, a record store, music festivals, radio shows, international residencies. Inspired by the international club scene he plays multiple music genres and has landed gigs at high-profile parties and fashion launches in South East Asia, Australia and Europe.

His expertise and imagination gathered as DJ, Producer, Music Director and Modem Music Label owner transcends the conventional expectations, allowing him to effortlessly bridge the gap between house music and generations of listeners. He is also one half of Ted & Jerry and Limousine that have released the tunes on the global platform and is expected to release an EP this year.

 

 

Shortly after leaving his residencies in Asia (where he began DJing in the early 1990s) in Sept of 2008 to explore other creative avenues in Australia, Jerry has landed his residencies in Canberra and Sydney and is deeply entrenched with his label Modem Music Australia.

Of his early years in Malaysia, Jungle Jerry commenced his career as resident DJ at Fire in Kuala Lumpur, he has been instrumental in transforming the expectations and standards of DJing in Malaysia and is responsible for elevating audience experience and expectations within the local club scene.   Jerry’s early roots were in hip hop and a member of one of Malaysia’s hip hop pioneers ‘Naughtius Maximus’.

Club residencies include Silhouette, Underground, Energy, The Backroom KL (of which he was co-founder), 12SI, Strumps, Euphoria by Ministry of Sound, to name just a few.

Bobby Suryadi: Multiple award winning techno and house DJ Bobby Suryadi has been a legend in the Jakarta underground scene thanks to his 11 year residency with Stadium Jakarta. He’s played at many events like Gatecrasher and Godskitchen, and has had the opportunity to DJ alongside some of the world’s biggest names such as Sasha & Steve Lawler. 

 

 

DJ Bobby was one of the Stadium’s favourite DJs. Bobby has played in many events, bringing the Stadium flag while playing alongside Gatecrasher, Jakarta Movement, Godskitchen, State Of Trance 2008 and many more. His work of ‘blending’ music has become distinctive flavor ever played since he played in 1988. His influence are House Music & Progressive House DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Danny Howells, etc.

He started his DJ career back in 1988. This former DJ instructor (1991 – 1992) in IDJS (Indonesia Disc Jockey School) Bandung has proven himself as one of the best Jakarta’s DJ. Many groovy places like The Wave (ex. Manhattan), Spech (music a lounge) Hotel Horizon – Jakarta (1992 -1994), Atlanta, Ebony, M Club (1994 – 1998) had experienced his full nuance music and continues his gigs inside the Stadium Club Jakarta (1998 – now). He is also known as the only DJ from Indonesia who combines three elements: music, visual, and lights being sync.

The night will also feature percussions by John Ashley Thomas aka Stickman and support from Jiro KL Music Director Alan Tand (who himself has guest DJed at Stadium).
