Loops Collective presents Europe's biggest celebration of sound system culture – Outlook Festival – at Le Noir KL this 30 JUNE 2018 with UK drum’n’bass headliners Total Science (C.I.A Records, Metalheadz) making their debut in KL for the Outlook Festival KL Launch Party.
For the fifth time in the last six years, Kuala Lumpur gets to host one of a battalion of launch parties all over the world for what has been described in the last decade as Europe's leading bass music and sound system culture festival – Croatia’s Outlook Festival.
Festival organisers have embarked on a worldwide tour in the lead up to Outlook Festival 2018, and like-minded music lovers will have a chance to party together at some 50 unique events all across the globe.
On June 30 the festival’s official Malaysian partner of half a decade and more years now, KL-based drum’n’bass collective Loops Collective will once again bring Malaysian clubbers a taste of the festival this time to Le Noir KL at Hives, TREC on Jalan Tun Razak who will co-host this launch party.
A host of DJs and producers will grace the KL launch, spreading bass vibes from drum’n’bass, dub, jungle to R&B and hip hop over two rooms on 30 June.
- Room 1 (Roof Terrace) goes drum’n’bass, dub and beats with Total Science, DJ Low b2b Tubby, Mac b2b Yikzz, Bad Icon b2b Zick Mastiff.
- Room 2 (Club Lounge) goes R&B, hip hop with Le Noir KL Saturday night Deviate helming with DJ Nesh, C7 and MC Kal.
Total Science: Jason Greenhalgh and Paul Smith first met in 1987, both living in and around the Blackbird Leys estate in Oxford, England and brought together through a mutual love of hip-hop and school girls. Greenhalgh was the first into the studio, with "Freestyle Fanatic" launching his career in 1991. However it was the establishment of the Legend imprint and specifically Greenhalgh’s "Champion Sound", which really took their profile above and beyond the slew of anonymous white labels that were dominating the music at the time.
By the end of 1997, with help from Brilo from Timeless, Greenhalgh and Smith established the CIA label and changed their name to the now synonymous Total Science.
The release of their “Silent Reign” EP for Goldie's Metalheadz breathed a new lease of life into the project, and the pair achieved a further boost with a well-timed Bad Company remix of "Champion Sound" which conjured further interest in what they were doing with their own label. Their debut album “Advance” exposed a further field of interest, with down-tempo experiments logged as a series of "Breaks" on the majority of their early EP's extended to some superb deep house, this breadth was taken a step further with their Skin Deep imprint which has forged broken beat to considerable acclaim.
As DJ’s Total Science have been touring globally for over a decade, regularly requested and in demand from the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan to the present day. They have a strong presence and dedicated following across the whole of Europe and in the UK, playing in all major regions and cities and regularly listed at top London venues.
